Surely the Lions are as vulnerable as ever as the moment. Their forward line is looking impotent with Bradshaw as their only key forward and their midfield is badly underdone.Jimthegreat said:Sometimes it depends when and how you catch a side. The last 2 years the eagles have "caught" Brisbane at the right time.........on a downer in Brisbane, and when they "can't be bothered" working hard after the long trip to Perth.
You're an idiot.Hasus said:If West Coast win, I guarantee you they will win the flag..
They are at their most vulnerable but give a champion side a sting in the tail, as the lions got last week, and such embarrassment could reaaly lift them, even for one week. You've done well against them recenly but I'm sure if the 2 sides had met in a final over the last 2 years Brisbane could've realy killed the eagles. Anyway, as you say, Brissie are vulnerable now but, maybe not this week. Any other week I may have tipped the eagles.Cosmic Starchild said:Surely the Lions are as vulnerable as ever as the moment. Lappin and Voss will play but will be less than 100%. The injury to Charman will allow Cox to have another day out in the ruck. In recent times we've been able to match up them through the midfield extremely well. At the moment we have more depth and for the first time in years, the Lions have a handful of guys in their side who aren't up for it.
Eagles by 10 points.
I thought getting overrun by the Swans at home would have been a fair sting in the tail. Yet they turned around and got smashed by the wooden spoon favourites.Jimthegreat said:They are at their most vulnerable but give a champion side a sting in the tail, as the lions got last week, and such embarrassment could reaaly lift them, even for one week.
And your point is?Rawhead said:Some teams win games
Some teams win premierships.

Are you saying that because you've won more flags recently this individual result doesn't matter?
Everyone knows Brisbane won three in a row. Why would you bring this up for the sake of it? It seems pretty irrelevant in this discussion.
How many finals did Brisbane win before 2001?Rawhead said:I guess the relevance is that West Coast havent yet shown they know how to win a final. Nothing at all against Wet Coast, there is much to admire in their game, only that their ability to stand up under pressure needs some work.
A strong possiblity? Based on what? These factors have all been in place before and we've kicked your asses. Brisbane should surely have been able to "intimidate" us on previous occasions, but have failed. Why should this weekend be different?Rawhead said:In regards to the next game, I think they are going to be under a lot of pressure from Brisbane, and although stats show West Coast to be clear favorites going into the match, I can see a strong possibility that Brisbane will intimidate them into submission.
I am quite sure West Coast wont be intimidated like some other sides ie St.Kilda.Worsfold would be telling them not to get sucked into anything and just play their normal game which has been successful so far this season and they should be able to win.Rawhead said:I guess the relevance is that West Coast havent yet shown they know how to win a final. I tip Brisbane.

You guys are vulnerable at the moment and you won't be able to rely on your midfield to get the edge they do against other sides.
I just don't see the logic here. We smashed you by 70 points at the GABBA in 2003 and won by 4 goals at the GABBA last year.Rawhead said:In regards to the next game, I think they are going to be under a lot of pressure from Brisbane, and although stats show West Coast to be clear favorites going into the match, I can see a strong possibility that Brisbane will intimidate them into submission.
Mead said:This is probably the worst week in the season to take on brisbane, they'll be angry and hurting, and I think everyone knows how good teams react.
I'm reasonably confident, because a.) we have a good record at the gabba, and b.) a couple of very big ins- Kerr and Gardiner will probably be back this week.
IMO, the game of the round, can't wait for this one.

This is nonsensical waffle.Rawhead said:Lethal plays a numbers game when it comes to matches, he is a very smart tactician. Not saying they dont play to win every game, only that the preparation is different depending on how the fixtures for the season are sorted. Basically Lethal plans for finals, while it is yet to be seen wether West Coast are going to run themselves thin come end of year.
Recent losses mean that Brisbanes preparation will adapt, and previous losses to West Coast also means lethal is well prepared to counter West Coast's game plan.

Were we intimidated on those occasions? God knows you were travelling much better leading up to those games than you are at the moment.
Can you give me a logical answer instead of wishful thinking?
