Yeah he did his ACL, possibly from a slip in the shower.
To think the Tigers could have had Polak and pick 13, and we could have had nothing.
We would have retained pick 13 in a deal for Coughlan.
Question: Were we after him or were the tigers trying to offload him?
My info was that Richmond told us not to even mention Cogs in any trades - he's off limits. They see him as a future capt of the club.
A couple of years ago he was definately being groomed as a future captain, but Wallace was looking to trade Coughlan or Tuck for an experienced KPP.
I can't believe we didn't play for Tuck. Mustn't have wanted to come over.
If the Tarrant and Solomon deals had been done by Wednesday we may have, but I'm not sure what we could have offered to richmond. Tarrant was always our number one priority, with that deal done so late it became tough to negotiate any others (with the Solomon trade completed around 30 seconds before the deadline).
Richmond have got both Polak and Simmonds for a bargain, hopefully we can stitch them up down the track.

So farewell to the Snake man, welcome back Heath Black (I suspect the Saints would have liked more for him, though Fiora could be gun!!!). We were a better team without Snake than with him in my opinion.
Polak + 13 for picks 8 and 42 is a good deal for the tigers aslong as Polak stays out of trouble. If Polak's off field exploits weren't common knowledge then we would have got a lot more for him, at 24 and with a lot of games under his belt he is ready to take the next step. The fact that Polak would have struggled to get a game for us is irrelevent, because there are plenty of teams screaming out for talls.

Walker for Tuck would have been superb IMO. Not sure if Richmond would have gone it.
True. Did you read the article where Polak said that he spoke to Richmond on the clubs trip to the GF? I think it was Polak's decision to go to Richmond that hurt us in trade negotiations, as well as their position in the PSD. I actually have little respect for him.
He would have known that he needed to pull his finger out for a couple of seasons now, and train and behave professionally. The Coach made a decision to play players on their merit and form rather than play talented players to get games into them. Polak lost out in that scheme of things, and instead of busting his gut to cement a place remained in cruise control. That would have been a factor in what his trade value actually ended up being as well.
I can't see a problem with what we have done.
Certainly agree with you about the lack of respect for him, and I'm looking forward to round 11. Getting booed would be water off a ducks back for most footballers but I think it will get to Polak.
Don't know if it's true or not, but I've heard that Polak and Connolly had a falling out because Polak was assured that Croad would stay at the club and felt betrayed when he was traded. Seems a funny thing to fallout over, but Polak's form did seem to fall away after Croad left.
