News Collingwood: 24 hours a day

It would be absolute overkill.

They sometimes struggle to fill 'The Club' with interesting content an that is only half an hour a week.

Those of you saying it's overkill don't seem to grasp that the majority of it would just old games huh?
You think we're going to have a show like "The Club" for 24 hours do you?

Now THAT, would be overkill.

Agreed on the overkill. Classic games may need to be played (and played again) to fill in the gaps.

Be interested to see what platform (e.g. net tv or the like) they launched on if this went ahead tho.

Would love it but it really would struggle to fill in the hours between games.

What else could they do apart from games? Live training commentary, VFL games, Collingwood news breaks, opposition of the upcoming week show, an EMT style show with a former player?, classic matches, where are they now, Pies in the news, best moments shows, press conferences, famous fans/long time fan interviews?

You could fill a day with all the interesting behind the scenes stuff to be honest.

I loved wathcing it on the Club and it never went long enough.

Add to that:

- Replays
- Interviews
- Club news
- General goings on at the club
- Training footage
- Fan created Collingwood 'Footy Show'
- Collingwood Dreamteam show
- Pre-season specials
- Anything Peter Daicos related
- Past Player shows

I'm sure there's more I'm not thinking of.

H
He works for TVN the racing channel now lol. Never knew he had finished some degree about horse breeding and was into racing that much. I am sure he will ditch that role for a 24/7 show haha.

He has had the morning show on Sport 927 (racing radio) for years. FYI Mick McGuane is on there too.

There's plenty of content:

- AFL games (including archived games from the past, I'm sure we can get games from yesteryear).
- VFL games
- Player interviews on their careers (both present + past) which include them talking about key games in their career and talking through the drafting process/how they got to the club etc.
- Training and chats with Buttifant/Buckley
- Weekly updates from the coaches
- Involving the supporters some how (say a sponsor going somewhere or completing a challenge with a player)
- Competitions/prizes to win tickets
- Brownlow medal counts of our winning players

It seems with the increase of internet enabled TV's, especially within the next 2-5 years, that having a 24 hour a day internet based channel wouldn't cost too much yet would still be accessible by the majority of fans, just about anywhere in earth.

Most of the 24 hours would be taken up with pre recorded stuff, in the same way Fox Footy's 24 hour a day channel is, even during the season, with maybe a few nightly shows and updates throughout the day.

Good to see the club thinking about the future of media, well before any other club seems to be.:)

I'd like to see every training session recorded and be able to watch it, preferably with mics on the players if it doesn't course much trouble.

Ok, after that redtube reminder I'm back. Did I miss anything?

Make your replies quick cause I'm getting sleepy.
Underrated humour.:thumbsu:

Perhaps a few pgm's like "House of Bolger" footy show style. Hey it wasn't great but maybe we can pay our players to "act".

First serial should be called "Dudd Dread". It's about a soccer player that was considered the best at one time.
He had all the skills but after many accolades he felt himself being drawn by a dark force to a truly evil club. All they could offer was money but the lure is too much. He's happy for a while until he realises that his filthy lucre, which he covets so much, is in jeopardy.........Will he take on the establishment? Will he win?

It's a rip roaring roller coaster of a ride with a sizzling red dress wearing gypsie thrown in for fun.

I think we've found the solution to any future TPP problems.:p
