Review Collingwood beat us

Good to see some acknowledgement of superior opposition. :thumbsu:

You and your scaley mates continue to confirm what others already think of Collingwoooood supporters.

Anyone know anything about Roo's knee injury? Was watching 9 news and they mentioned something about a possible knee injury?

Heard that - although sounded like a pretty concocted bit of reporting. "Roo gets treatment on leg"

i warned u we would get beat, use were all to cocky, the way we played against brisbane , we had no hope, look what hawks did to them, same passengers all the time we get beat, kosi , geary, invisible man(mCqualter),roo was better 2day but we couldnt kick it to him often and straight enough, still there is hope , with del, bakes, clarke, armitage, and roo back to close to his best, that filth wont beat us next time, ive always liked kosi but surely stanely and mCevoy have played better, he keeps getting a game on what we think he can do , not on what he actually does

We were missing a fit Riewoldt as a marking target all over the ground, and McEvoy wasn't playing and he has been doing that role pretty well - really hurt our descisiveness going forward.

Pattison won't play in any finals for us.

Once again, like others have said there are an uncanny amount of positives to draw from this. We're still 12-4 and plastered into the top 4.

Disappointing though.

 Guys did you think they looked buggerd in the first qtr was it possible the flu has hit a few roo looked more tired than last week and was stuggling to breath early in the game. there was no run at all.

What? That we take note when someone says something positive about us?

Is that what you call it .. "taking note"? Or maybe just an unnecessary and arrgogant infection of our board with your filthiness?

The Tip Wat says hi too. *wink*

Chill out brothers.

We had a shocker. Blokes like Gilbo, Sammy Fish and Lenny were making errors I haven't seen all year.

The positive thing for me was that Collingwood still played their around the boundary style. We had a good look at them in full flight. Their pressure was very good, but did they look unbeatable? Hell no.

I thought they had a nice rub of the green in terms of free kicks in front of goal and the old Sherrin just wouldn't sit up for our blokes.

Whilst losing is always disappointing, we're still a win off OUTRIGHT first. Good to have another challenge in the Hawks next week and we'll see how we go.

I'll back us in to return to the winner's circle.

Gah, i didnt like watching the game, it really upset me.
I personally think the G's killed us.
Geary had a shocker, looked under pressure whenever he had the ball, never got a clean disposal and had this obsession with handballing it to someone under more pressure than he was...
Gwilt looked like he had just got out of bed! I only caught the second half and a bit of the second quarter, but god. I was real dissappointed, his worst game all season, he didnt run, didnt have any confidence and had 0 tackles. 0 tackles!
Gilbert couldnt catch a cold or kick the skin off custard. In fact he couldnt kick on his right at all. I nearly cried when he made that mistake in the third. His skills were not up to scratch, but im sure he will bounce back.
And the last G, which could get me attacked, was Goddard.
I personally think he played really badly, like Gears his handballs were horrid, his kicks werent as accurate as usual and he genuinely couldnt find the ball. There were alot worse than him today but its the really good players that need to step up in big games and he didnt.

I think the only two players that can be remotely proud of the game was Montagna and Fisher, good work :thumbsu:
But its only one loss, were still in the top 4, the world is still spinning and you can garauntee we will bounce back.

Bah no harm no foul.

I don't really mind that much, I'd mind if it was a Final, but home and away is never an indication for finals, I remember back in 2008, was coming back from the Geelong QF and on talkback a Collingwood fan going on like "Oh thanks Geelong for giving us a Prelim spot now that we can just destroy St Kilda next week because we beat them twice in H/A" or such to that extent. Guess what happened next?

Home and away is meaningless.

Gwilt was v good, tho did have a quiet third quarter.

Our run today was horrible. Horrible when we had the ball, almost as bad when we didn't. Most of our blokes spent the day hailing taxis. Worst game we've played in a few years.

Never good losing to Collingwood but that loss isn't such a bad thing.

We should still finish top 4 and I'm sure we'll be a lot better next time if we meet them in the finals. Collingwood were pumped for it and we looked flat and off our game. We'll learn from it and that loss will just make us more determined next time.

There's no way Collingwood are a 48 pts better team than us. Dal Santo and Baker were out and Riewoldt is still half done, plus we missed a ton of shots at goal we should have kicked and the Pies got a few lucky ones.

Let them enjoy their moment of glory, we'll be back bigger and better next time. Finals is where it counts and we'll beat them then like we always do. No need to panic.

Exactly what happened to the Pies last time. Pressure just got to your players like it did to the Pies players.

JM2c: but a horrible loss considering where I thought where we would be at by round 16. Roo was okay, but not right obviously. Gram was better, but there pressure was far too much for us. Dal out was certainly an influence on our midfields use of the ball as well. I do agree that the loss is not the end of the world, we will come back bigger, stronger and hungrier. I think the boys need to see they can't just cruise through games, but they need to work hard to beat quality opposition. I wasn't confident we'd beat Collingwood and Hawthorn, so let's hope we come out hard against them and prove we're not going to get out-tackled like we did today. We are much better than this.

Collingwood seemed to have free players all over the ground throughout the match. Our handpassing was diabolical, we were hesitant under pressure, our kicking rarely favoured the receiver. Lyon seem bereft of ideas & we had too many passengers.

Apart from that we were great, kicked our usual 22 scoring shots, they only had 3 more than us.

don't ever bag collingwood supporters for making excuses. this thread is an excuses thread. "we didnt, kick straight"..."we were off today"... blah blah blah. thats what we said last time.

suffer in your jocks, hope to see you in september so we can do it all over again. yippee-ki-yay :p
Collingwood played really well, we played like shit, one all this year, yeah see you in the finals for the decider.

You don't have to be a ******** about it, you can do that on your own forum.

great bump. love lenny. and thomas is a young gun, bewilders me that anyone calls him soft.

good game saints, good to finally win one against you. look forward to a rematch later in the year

It's not the loss per se (though that was bad enough) it was the nature of it-no desire, intensity or seemingly interest. Yes we had a short week after the Gabba but they are professional athletes. Really, really dispiriting. That's our second blowout for the year-can understand one but no more than that.

blah blah blah. thats what we said last time.

suffer in your jocks

Funny, I don't remember you posting that after the previous game.

Put your diaper back on, and there won't be any suffering in your jocks.

LOL, you wish, the saint's have some high quality top liners but fall away greatly after that.
A list is the collective of the entire playing group not just your best couple of players.
Ok, the implication is, going by your post, we have a crap list & you have a great list. How come we are only 1/2 a win behind you on the ladder?

The fact is, the majority of the time, we get the best out of our player on the field at any given time, regardless of how the rest of the world ranks them.

Pull your head in... there are some really ungracious Saints losers on this board but certainly not out numbering the ungracious Collingwood winners.

I'll just take you back to some words from another thread:

My Response?

And now?

I say to you guys, proof is in the pudding, nothing is a certainty! dont get ahead of yourselves, and perhaps you can maybe take collingwood seriously from now on. The premiership race is wide open, may the best team win! :)

Well I did say bad kicking is bad football! Sure it was directed at you. But we played bad football yesterday. You played good football.
