Collingwood should be looking to select a midfielder and/or Centre Half Back with it's first pick... I'm hoping a Steele Sidebottom or Jackson Trengove will be available

what do other people think?

Is that an Austin Powers character?

we dont need centre half back we have one his name is ben reid, we just have to start playing him there.in the reserves he is named there which is a good sign.we need a midfielder with genuine pace and good at the clearances with our first pick.

I'm going to plug Michael Hurley earmearked for full back.

He is much the same mould as Paul Roos and can play either end of the
ground. 2 years ago, he was our CHF at Macleod as a 16 year old
playing against grown men and he absolutely dominated as a forward,
so I would imagine that he could a versatile player at either end.

6 ft 4 inches and still growing

Midfield is far more desperate than CHB. Must recruit midfielders with at least our first three picks.

i'll say the best player available....

if there's not much difference then mids, then key backs / rucks, the rest.

and locals over interesters if all things equal.

Yes, because Macleod is similar to AFL! Read other threads how nearly all AFL players "dominated" back home. Rarely transpires to anything

If we need to use our first round (probably like Pick #14?) to get Cousins in front of other contenders for him, I'm willing to do it.

He is the missing component to our current side.

I know it will probably hurt in the long term but the short term benefits may be huge.

Is that an Austin Powers character?

His parents get a "FAIL" in child naming along with the parents of Talulah Dusda Hula who's name was recently changed by the courts in her own interests.

I'm pretty sure there's an operation that can fix that.

I would not hesitate to use our first-round pick on Hurley, but he'll be gone well before our pick.

You are so fired.

Personally, I think there's a significant chance we'll pass on the available midfielders at our first pick. Sidebottom is a possibility, as is Blease, but I think more likely we'll bolster our back 6 with a Jackson Trengove or just go plain 'ol best available. After Rich/Ziebell/Hartlett I think there's a fairly clear gap to the next best mids, and many of those will be available at our next picks. Just IMHO, of course.

Top 10 Pick Ziebelle (Didak Trade if it happends Doubtful)

Our 1st Rounder Blease or Sidebottom

2nd Rounder DeBoer

Gee, I am glad that some “experts” rate this kid highly!
Matt Burgan on Matthew DeBoer (Western Australia)
Born: 10 March 1990
187cm, 85kg
Claremont

After opting not to nominate in last year's NAB AFL Draft – despite attracting strong interest from AFL clubs – the Western Australian vice-captain produced a first class carnival, winning plenty of the ball in midfield. Works hard and is exceptionally consistent.

Kevin Sheehan on Matt De Boer – A medium-sized midfielder, De Boer has been very good for his team, with his strong attack on the ball and run. This has been supported statistically, with 69 disposals in total (averaging 23 per match) which ranks him No.1. He has also taken 20 (average of 6.9) marks, ranking him first in the competition. De Boer has also 17 inside 50s, which is also number one in the competition.
Ken Casellas Watching teenager Matt de Boer fearlessly backing into the path of oncoming Subiaco full-forward Brad Smith in Claremont’s overworked defence in the final quarter at Claremont Oval on Saturday warmed the hearts of knowledgeable die-hard Tigers supporters.
The Tigers were being overwhelmed by a vastly more experienced side, but de Boer typified the spirit which makes Claremont a proud and competitive club.
Midway through the final quarter when Subiaco’s focus was on getting the ball to Smith, 18-year-old de Boer courageously positioned himself in front of the fast-leading Smith and he held a marvelous mark as well as collecting a heavy bump. It is this type of bravery which stamps de Boer as a talented young player destined to make a wonderful mark in football.

If we're looking for mids, Sidebottom/Blease/Robinson are all realistic options. No chance Ziebell/Hartlett/Rich will slip to us.

Wouldn't be suprised if we just went best available at the time, and i wouldn't be suprised if they didn't rate a mid as the best available at our pick.

How about Shaun McKernan:

I do to - He is exacly what he we need. Quick Inside Mid who can kick:thumbsu:

If he's available, which some believe he will be, but some wouldn't, he should be at the top of our list.

With Sidebottom.

Those don't be surprise if we go tall in the 1st Round

You never know what will happen especially with our club, but we don't need to. We have a host of versatile key position players, and if we can develop Reid down back then we're stocked.

Agreed Mid should be the number 1 thing we need but with Hine you never know

And if Ben Johnson is on the outer, and Burns retires (which I don't think he will actually) we need another Fanta Pants on our list.

With that logic, Blease should be the man.
