Looks like he Could be Pick 77 or the PSD Pick
I'd hope that we'd rookie him, he's still young enough, I'm not sure about any other criteria.

The "Permission To Train" list has to be the AFL's biggest over-controlling wank.

Why should they care if I am down there sculpting the guns? So long as it isn't an U18 potential draftee then WGAF?!
Technically, it could be seen as giving free personal training and facility access to a player as a bribe...

Nah, you're right, it's a wank.

LAOIS' Colm Begley could be joining his compatriots Martin Clarke and Kevin Dyas at Collingwood after the Melbourne club announced that the former Brisbane Lions' rookie would be training with the club for the next few weeks.
Begley was delisted by the Lions after he played 29 senior games for the club but had an injury interrupted season in 2008, playing just eight games. The 22-year-old is one of four Irish players to be named on the AFL's official 'permission to train' list with Louth's Brian Donnelly training with the Adelaide Crows and Conor Meredith (Laois) and Niall McKeever (Antrim) joining up with Melbourne club Richmond Tigers.
Collingwood football operations manager Geoff Walsh has said that the club will monitor Begley in training before deciding whether to recruit the former Lion in the main AFL draft or the pre-season draft. Begley must nominate for the main draft by November 19, with the draft itself taking place on November 29.
However if he receives assurances from Collingwood that they are eager to sign him he may wait for the pre-season draft, which is for un-contracted players and takes place on December 16. With fewer clubs involved in the pre-season draft it reduces Begley's chances of being picked up by another club in the main draft.
"No one has made any commitments either way," Walsh said.
"We just want to have a look at him and see how he goes for a few sessions," he added.

Nah - I'd say he'll just be training with us when we get back...
Might be Training with the Guys who where left Behind because I think he would need more than a Week to see if we will Draft him at 77 in the ND

Does anyone know if Begley was on our radar at all prior to him joining the Lions?

Would be a welcome addition to our squad.

Very surprised he was offloaded by the Lions.

I suspect DTM is right, and if Begley doesn't nominate for the National Draft by the November 19th cut-off, you can probably put our Pick #77 on ice for the PSD and Begley will be it.

It would be ironic in a way if it turns out that Brisbane overlooked Marty Clarke for Colm Begley, and then ultimately we end up with both of them. ;)
