Cotchin. Maybe the worst set shot in the league ? Love the Chimp but it's a huge problem. Griffiths is terrible as well. Lloyd may have played a career defining game.

If you didn't know before, you know now that Shane McInerney is THE worst umpire in the AFL. His effect on a game and the way he drags his two partners down happens game after game during a season. If you watch other games, you know him and Chamberlain get more involved in controversy than anyone else.

I thought Griff used to be a great set shot in front of goal, don't know what happened with him. Even Dusty lately has been ordinary at goal.

We will get trounced by Hawthorn next week. Watch Houli's weakness be shown up again and Hunt continue to turn it over.
Houli is porking your missus isn't he???

He was and he's a solid mark and epic kick around the ground. So why is his confidence shot? Chocco needs to work with him big time.
He has all the tools. Better in the ruck and around the ground than Vickery.
We need to invest time in him.

No one has mentioned how poor Grimes, Bachelor and Vlastuin played today.

Next week;

OUT - Lloyd, Hunt, Griffiths, Hampson

IN - Conca, Dea, Vickery, McBean

LINE UP:

B: Chaplin, Bachelor, Grimes
HB: Houli, Rance, Dea
C: McIntosh, Deledio, Ellis
HF: Martin, Riewoldt, Lennon
F: Cotchin, Vickery, Newman
R: Maric, Miles, Lambert
I/C: Grigg, Vlastuin, McBean, SUB: Conca

I cannot stand the nonsense about Houli's decision not being responsible for losing this game.
There is ALWAYS CONTEXT.
We were winning. Despite the missed goals and free kicks.
You have that knowledge in your mind, yet you make that ridiculous decision. People who are defending him must not have played competitive sport in their life. You don't ignore the setups and training you have for JUST THIS SITUATION.
Furious right now. The position we were in and what that means for the rest of the year is huge.
FURY.

I have massive doubts about Griffiths. Doesn't get enough of it and when he does, he misses. At least Vickery can kick a goal.

Agree Roos will over take us most likely if we lost to Hawks next week, there currently beating lions by 10 goals and will most likely smack Carlton next week and make up the diff in percentage.

Yeah, because Vlaustin and Grimes weren't poor. Second efforts were great and they can hold their heads up high.
Batch was ok.
Hunt was crap. Has the speed and ability but not the sense.

If we bring Dea in, i will vomit in my mouth.
Agree on the Hunt call. **** him off forever.

Houli has worried me for awhile now. Not hitting the body when had a chance to spoil is a rookie mistake. He's not a body player and I don't think he does the rest all that well. Just a longish average left foot that isn't much of a weapon. Even when he gets plenty of it he doesn't seem to spark things which I think is suppose to be his job.

So you'll get a big surprise when he's in the All Australian squad?

Personally I reckon pointing to any one incident as "cost us the game" is ridiculous.
It's as though every single thing else that happens in the match is irrelevant.
There were bad errors made all day.
Really bad.
Houlis error was really bad too.
But it was no worse than a lot of other errors.
Just burns in the memory more .
The other thing ice found funny is the reaction to Lloyd.
By no means do I think he's the answer or a player that is particularly good but he wasn't as bad today as you'd reckon reading some of the shit.
Our general lack of composure when it counts.. Including Houli was my biggest disappointment.

I am in this weird state where I am mad about the loss, but then get over it and become happy about our performance, but then get mad again because of our woeful kicking, but then calm down thinking "it is Fremantle, their 1st on the ladder", but then get mad because I realise top 4 is probably over now.

Gah, what an ugly loss. Logic says though is that we performed well today overall

10g18 says it all , Martin 4 points Jack 2 , FMD we made it hard for ourselves
Griff was a massive disappointment, why does he remind me so much of sarge at RFC , how he constantly ****s up his good work , all of the time . TV will be a welcome addition next week and they will think very carefully about dropping griff for Mcbean

RD I respect you more than most on this board, but in the context of the game that was a terrible decision.
We were still ahead.
He had one job.

No doubt but I haven't seen him take too many marks this year which is a worry and I think Chocco does do a lot of work with him. Its all up to him.

No doubting that.
My heart sank when I realized what he was going to do and I said some pretty ordinary things.
I just think to say right... That one act is why we lost is a bit tough and goes a bit easy on some really bad blues none more so than the skippers shot at goal.
But then I could go back to Griffs miss which instead of put us 13 up at half time went straight up their end and we led by 2.
In hindsight that was massive really.
But Houli, yeah that was very Significant in context as you say.

with me i haven't been mad like this for a while. I reckon its a bit of a different feeling if you play a top team and they win by 10-20 points and they control the game etc. But like you said we lost the game ourselves which is most frustrating. What makes the loss even worse is we go back to the pack now pretty much with other teams re top 8, Roos won by 70+points tonight so already they have closed in on us with % and only game behind.
