Interesting that former Premier League goalkeeper Shaka Hislop, from ESPNFC, has the top 5 GK's in the Premier League in order as:

1. De Gea, 2. Courtois, 3. Lloris, 4. Cech, 5. Hart

Looks ok to me, maybe swap Cech and Lloris.

That said I don't think there's a big difference between the 5. All very good keepers and if you were to ask 10 different people they'd probably give you 10 different ranking orders.

I completely agree. As I said earlier, every fan of those teams would be happy with their own goalkeeper and wouldn't trade him for any of the others.

why?

i genuinely dont understand why those guys are seen as a level above hart when he has been doing the exact same thing they've been doing. saving our asses for a long, long time. ever since he came back from being dropped he has been one of the best around.

if hart makes a mistake like de gea did against bournemouth he gets torn the shreds. happens to de gea and it's 'oh the best sometimes make mistakes.' it's a ridiculous double standard.

it'd be easier if people just said they don't like him, instead of pretending it's about his ability.

Just don't rate his shot stopping ability which is half of what makes a great keeper. He's good at organising the defence and vocal. If he had Mignolet's shot stopping ability combined with the rest of his game I'd rate him up there with Courtois.

his shot stopping is his best ability. are we forgetting some of his saves over the years? he pulled off one of the saves of the season against swansea. his performances against barca, dortmund, there was a save a few years ago off downing, countless others i dont have off the top of my head.

his only weak points have been his distribution and his command of his area, both of which he has improved upon in the last 2-3 seasons. to say his shot stopping holds him back is ridiculous.
