Glenn Mitchell on the ABC is a shocker. He will scream and shout when NOTHING has happened. Doesn't bode well for the radio listener, who cannot see what is going on.

I was listening to the cricket on the drive home on Friday (when Mitch and Siddle were batting), and Glenn was making it sound like a wicket was about to fall every ball. Just settle down.

The best on 9 are Lawry and Taylor. I can understand the Healy hate on here, but I don't mind the cheerleading antics.

Healy and Grieg are so bias its not funny, there both really annoying too

Channel Nine Ladder of Tolerability

1. Benaud - Still the best.
2. Lawry - No fuss, calls the game.
3. Taylor - Astute.
4. Chappell - Can carry on a bit with left-field rubbish, but usually ok.
5. Gilchrist - Great start.
6. Brayshaw - Don't mind him.
7. Nicholas - w***er, but does it professionally.
8. Slater - Not much upstairs.
9. Warne - Bogan.
10. Greig - Definition of tiresome.
11. Healy - Just **** off.

ABC Ladder of Tolerability

1. Damien Flemming - Top shelf.
2. Drew Morphett - Consumate pro.
3. Kerry O'Keefe - Comedy factor lifts him.
4. Glenn Mitchell - Carrys on a bit, but bearable.
5. Terry Alderman - Whinger.
6. Geoff Lawson - Whinger.
7. Jim Maxwell - His hatred of certain players makes him unlistenable.
8. Peter Roebuck - Someone needs to spank him upside the head.

I think if they just got rid of Healy it would make the rest of the team look better.

Healy is just absolutely out of his depth, i'd replace him with Gilly - much like in the test team, Gilly is superior in every way. Is Gilly going to join the team or he is just doing it for kicks while in Perth?

Gilly just jumps on board when he gets the chance I think. He has always done the Pwrth test, and it would be good if he could commentate on Boxing Day and the New Years test.

May be a trial for Gilly for a constant spot. He would be replacing Healy again. haha. I remember Healy was Ok when he started and did special comments. He had good technical insight, but then got too comfortable. Commentary is so important in cricket. It's a major part of enjoying the game.

l reckon this is pretty good, albeit l rarely listen to Channel 9. Roebuck is a **** (never forgive him for Sydney etc etc) but l think he is decent. And not quite so positive on Morphett - l wish they had groomed Whately into the Tim Lane role. Lawson can be quite insightful when he stops complaining.

Also the consummate pro is Jonathon Agnew - intelligent, warm, self-deprecating.

Alderman was giving me the shits yesterday with his negativity.Bloody hilarious when he came back on and the Poms were 5 down.

O'keefe purely for his laugh.

People always mention the comedy part about O'Keefe but his cricket knowledge when he is being serious is on par with any other commentator going around.

Was he reciting posts from the BigFooty board verbatim on-air?

Grandstand beats out ch9 I think, the insight is more varied.
Less of the same, and feels like your at the ground rather than listening to 100 stories of old every session.

This. Does a huge amount of homework/analysis that really comes through when he talks cricket.

Healy loves the sound of his own voice. Doesn't matter what crap is spewing out of his mouth as long as he can listen to himself.

Slater true to form:

"I remember the first match I played for Australia, it was a tour match on the '93 Ashes tour...".

Seems a likeable guy but memememememe-iiiiiiiii syndrome makes viewing so hard.

Healy also has to go.

To be honest, it's the older guys who are the best.

"...and it's HIT HIM ON THE PAD! Not OUT says Aleem Dar.

I don't mind Alderman, but it is ALWAYS hilarious when someone rips into a team or a player, has a spell from the box, and comes back when the side or player is flying about an hour later. Always a cracker.

Healy and Slater annoy the hell out of me.

Grandstand is far superior to Channel 9. I do enjoy Warney though. He spices things up a bit.

Harsha Bhogle is the best commentator when he's over here IMO.
