Conca Vs Heppell

Ok, lets take bias out of consideration. According to ChampionData, in 2012 Heppell has had an almost 30 per cent larger impact on the games he has played than Conca has. That's fairly sizable. I will give Conca this though, last season the difference between the two was almost 50 per cent so his relative improvement was greater.

Based on statistics, Heppell is the 5th best player at Essendon this season. Conca has been the 13th best player at Richmond. Conca is a very good young player and will grow into an excellent 200 game player for the Tigers but there is a sizable difference between Heppel's and Conca's outputs at this point in time.

And as second year players go, 13th should be around the mark. Sad if a second year player is statistically your 5th best player.

First, I'll take our incredibily average list sitting on 4-1 (1 one point loss, with a massive injury list) over your supposed "far superior list" that is sitting at, what is it, 1-4?

Second, just where did you rate Dustin Martin in terms of Richmond's best players last year? Because he came third in your best & fairest as a 2nd year player last year.

We didnt need a flashy outside downhill skier. We needed and got a tough as nails hard inside mid. You can keep your Edward Beal poster boy, we are more than happy with Conc.

Don't you mean he may end up being an outside mid? Has no inside qualities but plenty of outside IMHO.

Nah he has all the makings of an inside mid. He is good through traffic, reads the ball well off hands, has the frame to end up as a big midfielder and has that knack of always having time.

You can tell that Conca will be "inside" by the fact he's got 7 clearances and 29 contested possessions (31%) for the year to date; and you can tell that Heppell is "outside" by the fact he's only got 6 clearances and 32 contested possessions (31%)

As a poster has already pointed out, Dustin Martin was Richmond's third best player last year. So not only is your argument phenomenally stupid, it is also poorly researched. Well done.

You did this last year too with your easier draw. Came flying out of the blocks after a tough preseason, didn't taper off until soft tissue issues smashed you mid season, then fell apart and for a while your supporters were wondering where your next win is coming from.

Same pattern looks to be taking shape this year.

The fact Dusty came top 3 proves we a middle of the road side. Ditto Heppell and Essendon.

Also, I've said this in another thread but this is the second Conca poll an essendon supporter has started. Do you guys just start polls so you can tell everyone how shit you think the kid is? He's a second year pick 6 developing quite nicely. Might be a better idea to do this poll in a year or two.

Pump up Conca for sure as he's going to be really good for us,but don't fall into trying to minimize Heppell.

Think you'll find any supporter base will defend and pump up their players till they're red in the face. You'll get a few that go over the top no doubt.

It's not just Essendon supporters.... But the majority couldn't care less if no one rates our list, we like it that way.
