Congrats guys very impressed with that burst in the third quarter pure class

Although i was exstatic with the way we fought back in the last quarter against a quality side you guys definately are a Premiership side this year and would be happy to see you guys bring it home

Still think we could match it if we played you guys in the finals and we played very well to bring the game back to 14 points when it could've blown out to 10 goals but definately alot better side on the day - we are about where you guys were 3 years ago almost there but not quite!!

Good luck for the rest of the year guys

Go Roos!

Thanx guys - i love the way we play this year but its silly turnovers and crap kicking for girl that have hurt us the last 2 games - probably more last week than today, we should've beaten the Eagles

But that comes with getting games under our kids belts and we will polish that off soon enough - but too many honourable losses are getting too hard to handle =]

After some ribbing before the game with Cats supporters, i dips my lid. Cats r now tougher harder than ever. Great team effort and can i say Gary Ablett Junior :eek:WOW, could go the double this yr Cats brownlow and Premiership, stick it up the Eagles.

As long as you put it back on!

The lid is well and truely off at Kardinia Park last seen hurtling into the ocean somewhere :D, the only question now will the Cats be the Greatest Team of All in 2007, pretty hard to say no at this stage. Very even plenty of depth hard at it , but the Finals are different of course. Just think the only thing that stands in Geelongs way now is themselves for those last 2 weeks in September. Cant see anyone beating Geelong the first week in the Finals but the last 2 Finals are always the toughest mentally and physically.

i think the lids is starting to rust away but its nice to see so many people at the games.like today i was bound to put a few dollars into the NMFC piggy bank and hopfully keep em here in melb.

I would like to extend my congrats as well guys, awsome display yesterday and been terrific all season, also good behavior from your crowd which made for a enjoyable day even though we lost.
Good luck in the finals and if we dont win it I really hope you guys do.:thumbsu:

Well done to Geelong. We've played some reasonably good footy against West Coast and Geelong (and lost both). West Coast's midfielders were awesome against us - they were supreme at the ruck contests, and were able to set up play thru Cousins and Kerr over and over again.

However, their forward line is no where as good as Geelongs. You've got the right combination of talls with Ottens and Mooney and brilliant guys like Chapman and Johnson who always kick goals.

Geelong's use of the centre corridor was excellent - always a player there to link up to, and it allowed the forwards to lead to a ball coming down quickly in the middle of the field. It meant that you took many marks in front of goal.

But what impressed me most was the way Geelong used handballs around the packs. If a player was under pressure, he always found a teammate with a handball, and eventually worked the ball free from the contested situation and got the ball into the open. It reminded me of what North did to other teams in the mid 90s.

There is no weakness in the team - the backs all can take marks and run off their man. Harley and Scarlett were very good again, and of course Bartel and Ablett are pure class in the middle.

Well done cats, and you are definately the best team in the competition. You will beat West Coast from what I've seen over the last 2 weeks. If you can beat Port next week it will give you the edge over them too come finals time.

Well done pussies - beat us fair and square. Please pump West Coast in the Grannie - I hate them and their supporters more than Collingwood now!

Yeh, we're not very good at that either.

Great friendly atmosphere yesterday :thumbsu:

The amount of contested marks you blokes took against us was unbelievable.

Can't wait for the next encounter, hopefully week 1 of the finals at the G.

It was a good atmosphere after the game also. couldnt help notice Cam Mooney shaking hands and hugging every Kangaroo player. great stuff. Well done Roos on a great game.

I've been reading a few Roos threads, and apparantly Cam didn't want to leave the Kangaroos, but Pagan gave him the boot. He's still mates with a lot of the guys up there. He won a Premiership with them ffs - mates for life I'd presume.

I did the ladder predictor and had the Roos and Cats lining up in the first week and the LAST week of the finals. :)

Well done Catters :thumbsu:

It was so good to be at a game in Melbourne with a large passionate crowd, without trouble, and watching a game played the way footy should be played..............no scientific "zoning" of players ala the Swans/Hawks/Saints etc...............just good hard tough footy.

You guys definitely have the setup right to have a massive go at the big one this year. We couldn't handle your options forward, particularly your talls..........your backline's solid and tough to crack, and your mids are working their backsides off and using the pill very very well.

I can see us meeting again in week one of the finals and of course that'll be a whole new ball game but, for now, congrats to the Cats!!! Too good and definitely far better and more complete than those jokers out West, from what we've seen.

Geez I hope you're right. You guys would be definites, I would think. Us? Well, if we make it then the finals series would've been an absolute belter to watch. I hope you're right.

If you are, and with it being Archer's last game, it wouldn't surprise me to see Cam go the tongue, he'll be that overcome with emotion and given how affectionate they were on Sunday

Cam will forever be remembered as one of us, being a premiership player, and he's made no secret of the fact that Arch was his idol.............great to see his maturity this year as he may well hold the key for the Catters in September.
