I once got the chance to meet Rob. He was a really nice guy and took the time to talk to me. I hope he smashes those Proteas and knocks Cowan out of the side.

Sad state of affairs when a 30 year old bloke averaging under 40 is called into the test team.
Fair point, but his form over the last year and a bit has been undeniable.

Geez this team is easy to get into these days, got to be someone in their 20s who could have a long career worth brining in.

Good luck though hope he goes well

Good luck to him, shows the state of our batsmen that he can get through with his record though.

a good player, but yeah it does show a bit of concern when he is the next in line.... but you never know what can happen. it's still very possible to have a 50-test career debuting on the wrong side of 30...

Luckily the selectors are picking a team on form and not age. He's been the best state batsman over the past 12 months and deserves his spot. Credit to the selectors, the last lot would have given Steven Smith a go.

Yeah i guess in those terms its true. His stats have been good but nothing sensatational just been solid.

But his form of the last 2 years in all formats has been. Well... Second to none

Averaging 42 49 and now what 22 over the last 2 and a bit years is hardly second to none, id rather put someone like bailey in who has out performed him or take a chance on a youngster, put hughes back in. Feels like baggy greens are handed out a lot these days

You say baggy greens are handed out too easily, but think George Bailey should get one?

You kinda gotta agree to some extent but. I mean, Peter George owns one.

I don't doubt that baggy greens are handed out to easily, I just think it is curious that someone thinks they are handed out to easily but would be happy for George Bailey to get one.

I agree 100% with that but.

On form no... But Geroge Bailey and Quiney are the same age.. Bailey has a better average, double the number the of centuries and more than double the number of scores over 50 than quiney... over their /fc career by every measure Bailey outperformed Quiney... so before bagging out the guy you did too much just remember that Bailey has performed more consistently than Quiney.

Over their career's, Bailey has been more consistent you're right. But since Quiney has been opening, he has been a better player than Bailey.

55 not 58. The year before that Bailey averaged 30 to Quiney's 42.

58 in the shieldhttp://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/en..._batting_average.html?id=6788;type=tournament... Now this was not to brawl but you pointed out since Quiney as opener had outperformed Bailey, the fact is it's up in the air, Quineys form has been good but the way Bailey is maligned on Bigfooty for batting Tasmania to high shield finishes is crazy.

Now I belive you must pick on current form and the right moment came along for Quiney so be it... but stop your one line digging at Bailey because your not backing your bagging him out with fact.
