Selwood was massive tonight, but apart from our pathetic first quarter it was pretty evenly matched. Amazing to think that our youngsters matched it for 3 quarters with a group of veterans looking to threepeat. Very pleased with the talent coming on down here at the Cattery.

Poor kicking for goal made sure of that. Even Al Clarkson mentioned just then in his presser the stats were misleading. 25 scoring shots to 26, we were just too wasteful up forward. Good learning experience for the kids though, turn up from the start of the game and kick a bit straighter and they would have pipped the premiership favourites. Mission accomplished as far as I'm concerned.

Been hearing that for a while now, fortunately we keep ticking over the replacements. Anderson, Hartung, Hill, Langford, O'Rourke, Howe, Ceglar, etc are all pushing into the side nicely.

Yeah. Even that has a use by date. Your number one guns are your oldest players. Lots of B-grade players look A-grade when they are in a strong team. When the older guns come back to the pack (and it happens in a blink of an eye), that's when those players get caught out.

About 20 inside 50s behind at 3/4 time. If we hadn't switched off for the last 10-15 minutes of the second quarter that's looking at a 10 goal+ loss.
