Surely that has to be the worst GOTY ever?? As has already been said, Fletch's torp was better than that, and Fletch sure as hell wouldn't be staking a claim for the car.

Motlop is very stiff here, his goal is one of the best I have ever seen.

In all honesty, anyone in the AFL could do what Lloyd did, but, I don't thikn there are many who could repeat Motlop's goal, even at training.

Everyone jumps up and down and says that anyone could have done that.

It was thought to do it that got him the award, similar to the Daniel Wells GOTY a few years ago.

Game on the line, you pick the ball up surrounded by Carlton players with your back to the goal, can anyone say that they would've thought to do that in a split second?

bias aside, his intiuton for coming tackles made it one of the cleverest goals to drop and backfoot it through. A goal from nothing.

however, I saw Motlops goal and must say I have never seen a player so confidently do that from so far out.

Fletchers topedo though was my pick for the classical qualites that have by and large left the game but when they occassionally reppear inspire all footy lovers

The Goal is overatted but it isn't a easy as it seems.
Tried it several times, it is pretty hard to connect with your heel consistantly.

Ignore crap like that if it's posted. Lloyd is a sensational footballer and would walk into every other side.

Don't know if it was the best though.

Wayne Carey made a good point a few years ago about goal of the year. He said it often goes to blokes who do something we see over and over again. Banana's from the boundary happen every week/year (varying degrees of difficulty of course), as do torps from 60m etc.

I thought McVeigh's goal was better than Lloyd's, as was Davey's. However, Lloyd's most definately isn't something we have seen before.
