Congrats on a comprehensive thumping tonight.

I'm just watching the last quarter now (delayed telecast up here in Qld)

We were never a hope. Clearly superior in almost every aspect. I don't even know where we go from here.

Good luck in the finals - there is no doubt you'll figure more prominantly this year.

A tip of the hat to you my good sir.

Anyone who recognises the greatness of van Berlo is always welcome on the adelaide boards.

And anyone who doesn't is already dead.

Crows were excellent last night. That's as good an exhibition of pressure, discipline and team football as I've seen this year. Way too good for us; we've got a long way to go to be a threat this year.

You guys are going to be downright scary when you get the quality back in the side.

And cost me (yet) another bottle of red with my mate in Adelaide. :p

As a saints man honest answer where do you guys go from here, what TOUGH descions is needed playing and coaching wise.

Frankly?

I'm not unhappy with the coaching. I think GT can coach; we've gone from absolute crap to top 4 with him, he's got a good assistant panel (it's generally accepted that Bundy & McGuane are tactically astute) and the club off the field has improved it's position financially and organisationally greatly. He's been the catalyst for most of that, along with Butterss.

As a team? Our best footy can match it with anyone. But we've been nowhere near our best this year, and is looks like we may not reach those heights this season. Sometimes that happens; I thought you guys were the best side last year yet Sydney took the chocolates.

We'll have a few retirements this year, and probably clear a couple of players. But we've got the same constraints as every other team; salary cap and drafting pressures mean you have to spread the talent base amongst the teams, and so a quick fix that way is unlikely.

The core of our side is pretty young, and I'd expect them to continue improving. If we get a fair run injury wise in a season soon I think we can be a genuine chance for a flag; but there are a few other sides that can make the same claim. You need a bit of luck to win one.

I'd also expect your mob's setup to come under the microscope as a club leading the pack in how to prepare a team. More teams are going to follow the AFC lead in training methods and playing style, as always happens with successful teams, and that should cause some adjustment to the way we play. We need to play a smarter gameplan; I think we rely a bit too much on individual brilliance to get over the line, and these days a more structured approach seems to be a better way to go. It sure looked that way last night.

Time will tell as always.

Ah, the old adage - "a champion team will beat a team of champions".

Mind you we have a few champions in our group - Goodwin, Roo, Macca and Edwards.
