love seeing the cats losing no matter what , even better it was a grand final now that you gotta love it haha

but i have to say i meet the hawks a year ago and they are bunch of nice blokes

i struggle to understand why there is so much hate for geelong in the lead up to and post grand final..our supporters have shown nothing that ANY other side wouldnt in our position.

Well done to you boys played one hell of a game with us..i think we both hope there are many more great contests to come and i think we both no there should be.

I'm pretty sure it's due to most people wanting Geelong to win last season, and then when they did (and played so well throughout this season) it was rubbed back in our faces.

It might not have been everyone, but all the cats fans I knew personally - and a majority on here - were far too arrogant, but not only that, they were downright ignorant and disrespectful most of the time.

Supporters like you (who I'm assuming is either an older head, or just a good bloke) kept things in perspective and seemed to be fair and modest. Those are the ones we feel sorry for...

But for the rest of your lot who have been acting like king-d*cks I like to think we've left some sweet brown and gold in each and every one of their gaping mouths.

I disagree. I think on the whole we have handled ourselves well. I think we've also been magnanimous in defeat.

Besides, no group of supporters could ever be worse than Eagles fans were after 2006. That will never be topped by anyone, well except the next time the Eagles win a flag.

I may not be the biggest fan of your club (comes from underdog theory and having grown up in the 80s when you were too damn good), but your lads played exceptionally on the weekend and throughly deserved the win and the silverware.

Enjoy your year of near untouchable gloating. ;)

Well like I said lots of you did, It's just that you guy happened to be the silent majority in comparison to the rest.

And I probably should have explained, it's not as if your supporters didn't have a right to be arrogant - or at least self-assured - because Geelong have been fantastic over the last two seasons.

It's just the ones that took it too far and became disrespectful, coupling that with their ignorance made a shocking combination endearment wise.

Given the last 2 premiers have stood accused of gloating arrogance, are you concerned that some over zealous Haws fans may also go down that path and Hawks too will stand accused?

You already have plenty of fans on here doing the same. It just goes with the territory. Yes, there are a few boneheads, but every club has em, and I don't think my club is particularly worse than any other. In fact I think we've been better than most. I think you guys thus far have also been good on the whole, but there are still annoying bellends. Just wait till the bandwagoners get here ;)
 
I am an Eagles supporter, but i was backing you guys all the way through finals and was so stoked and proud of the Hawks that i even went out and bought myself a hawthorn guernsey.

(....and to keep the thread on track, I'm still having nightmares about your teams' composure and defensive pressure last weekend Hawks fans. Your teams' performance was outstanding ..... and the impression lasts:))
