Opinion Consensus Best 22

Okay guys, I thought it might be fun to come up with a consensus best 22 of all (or the majority..) of Dees posters on the board.

Basically post your best 22 and then rank the players (as follows)...

So... how this will work is the player ranked number 1 (in my case Mitch Clark <3 ) will get 22 ranking points ... the player ranked 2nd will get 21 ranking points, etc, etc.

The 22 players with the highest ranking points will get a spot in the 22 - and also be ranked according to our collective evaluation (ie. highest amount of points get's the no.1 ranking)

In determining positions, there are 7 types of positions.

1. Key positions (Ruck, FB, CHB, CHF, FF)
2. Flanks (HFF, HBF)
3. Pockets (FP, BP)
4. Inside mid (C, Rover, RR)
5. Outside mid (Wings)
6. Bench (Lol)
7. Sub (Double lol)

Simply, a players position will be determined by the position they are most often put in.

This isn't intended as a thread where everyone rips into each others team/rankings either, it's purely for everyone to post their so I can combine them to create the Big Footy Demons Best 22 (not for Round 1).

I'll only accept entries until Sunday (unless this thread dies in the arse) to make sure it get's done before I start uni.

Corrections (of rules!), Questions, etc are welcome.

If it goes well I thought a mid season (bye round) and end of season comparison could work well!

Tell me, what's with the bolded last five players?

It's interesting, I reckon you've nailed the best 22 in my opinion, I only have a couple of insignificant position switches. Having a good look at the full list, we do have some depth across all positions now. Except in the ruck - I'm skeptical of Pederson's ruckwork from the limited amount I've seen. Anyway...

Our collective love for Viney knows no bounds.

No but seriously, Toumpas may well come to be the preferred player in a few years. For now he's a little less physically ready for AFL than Viney (not that that is a problem, JV is a beast) and the general idea is that Viney will probably play more games this year.

Those 22-1 rankings get pretty arbitrary down the bottom end too.

I rate Viney higher than Toumpas right now, I think Viney will look better to begin with but Toumpas will be a better player in a year or two.

I genuinely think he is a huge chance even if Blease does get up, my selection for season 2013's sleeper.

A couple of scouts saying he's the hardest TAC cup player they've ever seen. He would've got more hype if he was in the open market.

I'm not very good at rating players objectively. The order of the first 11 or 12 is fairly accurate in my mind, after that it all gets a bit hazy...

Not at all. An interchanging midfielder is much more valuable than our worst defender.
