Seeing the thread on this board about North Melbourne attracting players, got me thinking about what factors are most important to deciding to stay or leave when offered a chance ot move on.

Of course this won't be a perfect exercise as it lacks some context around life situation, but interested in how you would rank the following factors from 1 - 10 when weighing up offers from rival clubs if you were a player. Is there anything else that would weigh heavily into the discussion ahead of any of these points?

1. Annual salary of contract
2. Length of contract
3. Geographical location - state. Weighing up moving away from family, playing in a non traditional AFL state, weather, real estate costs, media opportunities etc etc
4. Geographical location - local. Weighing up between say Collingwood located centrally and Hawthorn out at Glen Waverley or in W.A Freo out at Success and Eagles eventually at Lathlain
5. Lists in relation to your position - what sort of competition will you have to break into a team or maybe you're a midfielder weighing up how much support you'll have
6. Who the coach is.
7. Overall state of list - is it in rebuild mode, contending....how much does that matter to you
8. Club facilities
9. Pre existing club likes or dislikes. Maybe you've just always hated club x and wouldn't move there no matter what or maybe club y is your dream destination because you've supported them since you were a kid
10. Club personalities. Maybe the idea of going to Collingwood is off the table because there's no way you'd play for a club Eddie McGuire is anywhere near, or wouldn't go to the Eagles because you've heard things about Trevor Nisbett.

Will obviously be different for every player

I'd imagine for most (especially average-good players) $ is the main consideration followed by team success and family situation.
