Any intel on WC targets outside of Starcevich, Ah Chee, McVee?
Seems we aren't linked to any mids and Starcevich and Ah Chee aren't mids.
Ah Chee may rotate through like Ryan but predominantly HF/WING player.
Thought we may have a B grade mid in our sights at worst and someone better than Erasmus?

clearly an annual Deven link.

clearly an annual Deven link.
Hes even further back now from getting a game with Brissy and after this draft, has zero chance of playing. So its probably up to us if we get him now. He would have to be a moron to stay on Brisbanes list, unless he enjoys the reserves.

just amazing that for 5-6 years, Brisbane still haven't realised they have a superstar on their list.

Deven got drafted BEFORE COVID. Think about how long some still bemoan this. there have been approx 65-75 other west Australians drafted since him.

and there is a perfect example of human mind. when its so much thought and brain power invested, it can't comprehend its wrong.

Priddis has been holding him back.

I don’t think you’ll see any teams giving up F1 given there’s a good chance academy’s and father sons will be locked out from at least the top 10 picks. Makes those early future firsts super super valuable given they won’t be diluted

I absolutely agree with your logic and share the same view.

But we are dealing with North Melbourne and Brady Rawlings here.

No doubt we will be speaking with a few that haven't come out in the media yet, always seems to be a surprise. Remember Jayden Hunt? Totally out of left field.

Actually, I wonder what happened to all the Will Phillips chat? Is he still on the cards or have we focused our attention on the local Neil Erasmus instead?

Now THERE'S a list manager who deserves some heat. So very glad he's not here anymore.

Farrow is rising pretty fast and seems he's almost caught up with Lindsay. He's drawn the same player comparisons (Dawson, Young) as Lindsay but seems better on the defensive side of his game.

Going on that I'd rather skip Lindsay & work on getting Farrow
Can see him going top 10 now. Someone with multiple picks will have a go. Easily better than Lindsay.

We have assets to get 4 top 10 picks. Split 2 plus get our hands on the Saints pick through the Ryan trade (Hawks upgrade?)

Duursma, 2 of the rest, Farrow and Banfield would be a home run draft

Top 20 Mock Draft (inspired by ALFooty and other mocks)

1WCE - Willem Duursma [utility]
2 GC - Zeke Uwland [mid/def]
3 WCE - Cooper Duff [Ruck]
4 RICH - Josh Lindsay [mid/def]
5 GC - Dylan Patterson [mid]
6 RICH - Sam Gryl [mid]
7 BL - Daniel Annable [mid]
8 ESS - Jacob Farrow [mid/def]
9 ESS - Oliver Greeves [mid]
10 WCE - Sam Cummings [mid]
11 STK - Jevan Phillopu [mid]
12 HAW - Mitch Marsh [fwd]
13 CARL - Dyson Sharp [mid]
14 CARL - Harry Dean [def]
15 SYD - Aidan Scurbert [fwd]
16 WB - Noah Hibben [fwd/mid]
17 ESS - Xavier Taylor [def]
18 FREO - Harley Barker [wing]
19 ESS Adam Sweid [mid]
20 GWS Lachlan Dovastan [fwd]

Compensation

Band 1
- WCE Oscar Allen
- CARL Tom De Koning
Band 2
  • ESS Sam Draper
  • CARL Jack Silvagni

Trades
  • WCE trade HAW 1st + WCE second round pick to GC for Ports 1st
  • GC trade HAW first for both ESS first

WCE Selections
1 Willem Duursma - Eagles draft him to develop him into a transition mid, eagles desperately need players that can help transition the ball, Duursma is elite in almost everything but struggles with contested ball.
AFL comp: Finn Callaghan

2 Cooper duff - Eagles draft there must needed ruck of the future, new ruck rules and other new rules help his case of being a ruck at afl level. The afl is trying to reduce the amount of stoppages, so having a ruck that can move around the ground will be great. Is weakness's would be his size and hitouts, new rucks rules should help in the hitouts.
AFL comp: Tim English / Luke Jackson

10 Sam cummings - Eagles draft a do it all mid, Cummings can play inside and out, has amazing defensive pressure, and hits the scoreboard.
AFL comp; Andrew Brayshaw / Isaac Heeney

Not too sure about this one chief

clearly an annual Deven link.
I actually have no problem with Dev and Tunstill being targets for our WAFL side.
Hope we are and sure we are thinking if they get no decent offers we look at them as SSP train on players like Brock.
Both would be excellent WAFL players.

Or… and hear me out here, we just take the best player available by a landslide which is Duursma and split pick 2 instead?
I'm not very happy taking such an outside player pick 1 . Also I feel he will either go home or cost us way overs to retain him

Tunstall is easily best 22 and should be gotten infront of of Dev.

This is totally my take.
I think we have someone on the hook or almost over the line as we always do business behind with minimal leaks.
I think Will Phillips has probably not progressed as he hasn't and C Hall has improved a decent amount and would be less need for him.
Not that I think Hall is in our best 22 in 5 years time if we draft and trade well, but he is a good depth player with his defensive game and lack of speed.
Erasmus seems to me to be plan C probably and gettable if we want but he is reportedly being offered 3 years now by FRE and would be difficult to see him leaving them unless our offer is significantly better.
No links to Davies from GC but he would be well ahead of Erasmus imo, and far more worthy of a 3 year offer on decent coin.
WC being very quiet always means we are active behind the scenes, and I think the target might be still involved in finals is my guess?

Sorry WC but he just looks too good of a KPF to draft as a high quality KPD.
He just looks class and quality.
Same game playing for the same side just after 1/2 time D Sharp 11d, 4t, 5cl, 5 x i50, 1g and 3rd most disposals for his team!

Is this a mock based on mocks or a mock based on a combination of mocks and player rankings? I ask because Twomey & RookieMe are still at rankings stage. There's not a chance in hell we pass up Sharp (or that Carlton pick him up!).

I'm not very happy taking such an outside player pick 1 . Also I feel he will either go home or cost us way overs to retain him
Don’t make me tap the sign
In the four state games he played he was ranked for Vic Metro in contested possessions as

v Vic Metro - 3rd (9 contested. two had 10)
v South Australia - 3rd (9 contested. two had 12)
V WA - 2nd (11 contested, one had 13)

I think the idea he can't move inside is misplaced.
