Im generally pretty particular with what I say, ive made sure to not take a position pro-getting him in as I dont really want him, as ive said multiple times

Pointing out he would fill a need is not the same as advocating for getting him in...

I had zero faith in our trading and recruiting team last year and was referred to as a bed wetter from the start of trade period for saying we’d fail to get anything done other than overpaying for Baker.

Let’s see if we change our fortunes this year but I’m not holding my breath.

We’re the nice club, who do nice deals and play nice with other clubs and don’t want to be seen as anything other than nice because that’s not what we do.

The length of the extensions of Kelly and Hutchinson. Not great but hopefully they can prove that wrong.

Leaving Chesser deal until we could see what he looked like was the right call, now the risk of losing a 23yo for unders is great for our list build but that is what it is. 4 years in and such an unknown player. Did look like he would suit the chaos ball.

Not many leaks from the Eagles atm so will be interesting to see how this plays out. Hopefully some contract updates at tonight’s BnF. (And Don Pyke promising to use all 3 levers to get the list build going)

The silence is deafening and i would have thought if we were coming on hot and heavy word would be getting out.

When i hear rumours we'd potentially trade pick 2 for possibly Blues compo picks, which would take us out of the reach of Sharp, Lindsay, Cumming, Marsh & CDT i feel like vomiting. This draft is dead set shite and we have two decent picks at the pointy end. Just take the picks, no need to get smart with it unless someone like Tigers or Bombers overpays.

I agree with that sentiment but doubt that would happen.

Ports pick from GC seems the most likely but with the Hawks moving further up the ladder each f*%king game this even seems less likely now.

Each week as clubs get eliminated, I think we will start to hear more and more about possible player movements.

If GC get knocked out tonight then they will have their end of season meetings next week.

If we are keen on Davies, Walter, Flanders for instance that would be the time for the players to flag their intentions to seek a trade. If the legwork and wooing hasn't been done by now then i wouldn't be expecting much to change over the course of the next week.

I think with the make up of our forward line hutch can really be important going forward, hopefully he justifies the length , doubt the yearly rate would have anyone up in arms

Yeah you nailed it. Agents normally are all over it and not many get through to trade week without some talk. Lachie Schultz was one a couple of years ago. ANB and Noble the only 2 from last year from memory.

Graham and Baker were heavily linked at this stage. Owies wasn’t but everyone knew he was likely out but destination unknown.

Starcevich seems 50/50 at best and I don’t think we are rumoured to be in front of any other player race.

Does have a feel of an offseason ins of Dev, McIntsoh and Blight and split pick 2 about it. A fair bit of smoke with pick 2 and makes not much sense from outside of the 4 walls.
