DOCKERS OR DOGS? MID'S BIG CALL

The Western Bulldogs are among the Victorian clubs interested in Erasmus, while West Coast has also been linked to the Subiaco product.

Article about Erasmus. Does still have us with interest in the article but not as strong as Rhino has indicated previously.

The Dogs' interest is a bit baffling given that they have one of the best and deepest midfields in the comp. Libba isn't going to be around forever but he's at least playing on next year. If he signed there he'd have the same problem with breaking into full-time midfield duty that he's had with Freo.

Why do you think itd be just because of his name?

We get him super cheap by matching a bid either for 0 draft capital or as a rookie.
If we get him super cheap then we aint getting much
Interesting with McQualters previous relationships, I would say no Petracca wouldn't come, Oliver has a few issues we would prefer not to have.
Better chance of removing Rivers early imo.
What about McVee any chance of getting him and would we want him if available.
I’m definitely assuming that Allen’s contract offer is greater than Starcevich’s.
Does trading picks for Starcevich avoid us not getting FA compo for Oscar ?

Hopefully we have a mid locked (and it’s not Starcevich possibly playing there)

Would we be into Max Heath? 22y/o ruck, TDK has just come in so they're holding off on his contract but broke through for a few games this year.

Definitely think we need a #1 ruck developing on our list but drafting one now feels wonky on timings - you ideally want your ruck at least the age of your best mids so they all peak at the same time. An 18 year old probably won't be impacting enough when we're getting the most out of Harley/Hewett/Sharp/Duursma etc.

Could throw him a bit of money and then turf out Barnett?

If we let Barnett see out his contract and stay next year, I have no doubt he will be told in no uncertain terms by Mini, Woosh & co that his footballing career is hanging on by a bees dick. Will the pressure finally create a diamond? Stranger things have happened in footy. I think we all hope so, but its unlikely.

I mentioned him already this morning but there are four clubs monitoring Ted Clohesy in the VFL. Given his performances there, the fact that we are looking for cheap mids and most intriguingly, the fact that he could be delisted and re-rookied at the end of their season...I wonder if we are one of those clubs?

You'd think we would be aware of that situation, and should be keeping tabs in case the opportunity comes along to swoop on him in the pre-season draft. He's been steadily improving and to me, not a bad option. Erasmus talk be damned. I'd rather Clohesy.

One would hope that getting zero senior matches for by far the worst team in the comp, playing a position where the club's depth and talent are probably also the worst in the entire comp, would serve as a pretty big red flag to him.

Hoping he's like me in my uni days...do nothing until your assignment is due in 2 days, then cram like hell and scrape through.

Hutchinson is a like-for-like replacement for Ryan… a highflying goal kicking forward
Mad Max Thats GIF

Harry Boyd delisted for the Saints. Good VFL numbers and only one AFL game but going off that his stats, he matched up better in that game against ROB than Flynn did in his two match ups. Only 198cm?

Liam Ryan and Luke Ryan play for West Coast and Freo, don't think we've had brothers play for cross-town rivals before.
