IF that is true re Zane that'd be 3 out of 3 Duursmas leaving their original club. Can speculate as to reasons why, but definitely food for thought re Willem
so you are including the sister in that number

Played footy with Chad on the weekend, top fella.

Are you any good? Would you consider the move?

He has already had offers he just need to decide if he plays for the Busselton Magpies , the Dunsborough Sharks or the Augusta Margaret River Hawks.

Apologies this is an insider joke between Eastcoasteagles and his better half, she is keen that they make the move, he is haggling on the financial contract, if it was enough coin he would move.

Yeah mate I don't really subscribe to the relentless Matt Clarke bashing that some do on this board. Not going to call him a bust over one off-season. To be honest I wasn't unhappy with how things turned out for us in the end, besides Owies but you can't win them all. Willing to back the bloke in and give him a real shot to build the list.

Seems to be making the right calls for the most part. Letting Allen go is a good start this year, the posturing on Ryan is also pleasing. These are things we're not used to seeing in a long time. Ask me again after this trade period what I think of him and we'll see where it all lands.
Really, it was pick 3 for ....... give up, surrender 😪

Xavier duursma is a decent player. Better than any of Mortons. I am not sure why X gets a bad reputation. Skinny willem and brothers = all Mortons?

A little simplistic.

Cheek, tongue, in.

Probably not, but its nice to dream.

Simply cant see how the Swans get our pick 2 theyre supposedly after in any other way, unless we REALLY want to bank multiple future picks, or theyve got other trades also lined up
The only way I would see this happening is if Sydney get desperate and if they did I would want pick 9 and Warner for pick 2 and Hawks 1st.

Haggling is an art we have lost.

We need to light a fire under Brockman's asse in 2026. Give him the same speach we presumably gave Chesser this year, the gist of which will be "This is it Bro, start performing, start contributing now this year or your career is over, this is your last chance". Next year is his 6th year on an AFL list. Currently he is nothing more than a passenger showing occasional glimpses of talent. Not good enough at this point in his career.

Brockman had a cleaner run at this season and showed what he can do. He has the skills and smarts.

But more consistency is needed.

If he can improve another 10 to 15% he's a keeper. If he can improve another 20 to 25% he's a gun.

Brockman hasnt peaked if he applies himself. Thats the hard part.

Draper is an UFA?
More than happy to accommodate ESS for pick 1 or 2 for 5 and 6 on our terms.
If West Coast were smart they’d get the guarantee from the AFL that FA won’t dilute our compo. Overpay Draper to the moon, get 5 and 6 off Essendon for pick 1.

Essendon in: pick 1 (Duursma), pick 7
Essendon out: pick 5, pick 6, Draper
Eagles in: Draper, pick 5, pick 6
Eagles out: pick 1

Essendon essentially turn band 2 compo and downgrade pick 6 to pick 7 to upgrade pick 5 to pick 1.

you mean you want to take a club to cleaners and enjoy it, not do haggling?

Sydney would not be desperate to get rid of Warner. Desperation is thinking that.

At a guess if they could get all of them to agree. (Later picks thrown in to even them out)

McKenzie - This years first
Flanders - Future first
Aleer - Pick they get for Windhager or F2.
Ryan - Steele/F2/Marshall pick

JSOS and TDK as free agent. Fantastic footy sort of stuff but they are having a crack
You're assuming their trading contracted players out though.

Not according to Ross.

Was just thinking about that. Ess could also then send 7 on to roos for the third.

And we ain’t trading Ryan because he’s contracted….. same with Suns and Flanders and Hawks and McKenzie….

Windhager not contracted.
Marshall there is a lot of smoke.
Steele maybe not but with 2 mids coming in and most Saints fans will tell you it doesn’t work great with him a Macrae.

Massive overs for McKenzie

Massive unders for Windhager

If Windhager wants out, we have to ask the question (answer almost certainly no, but we do have a war chest 💁🏻‍♂️)

I did say later picks to even them out.

They ain’t prepared to go to 4 years for Windhager you can’t ask for too much when he’s OOC. Apparently wants to stay but they ain’t upping their offer atm. They are also offering Aleer the 4 years on more money then they are Windhager so hard to argue. Giants rumoured to be keen on him so a swap could be on.

With McKenzie, You go for contracted players it will cost you. Weak draft and the Saints picks likely to be at about 12. So unless they split that pick which they could I can’t seeing it costing less
