I've always thought Logan Mcdonald was meh.

Something about him, he lacks intensity and is just a soft gumby or something. Bit like Taberner MKII.

Jed Walter on the other hand.... just missed his teams a huge win to lock away a maiden final, which he will also be left out of.
Yeah, no thanks to McDonald.

If we’re trading pick 2 away for a KPF, it better be for Walter.

We don’t exist to help facilitate trades for other teams.

1 : Dyson Sharp
2: ? Split
11: Jacob Farrow
19: Harley Barker
30 : Sam Swadling
F/S : Banfield
NGA : Evans Walley? Williams?

Would love to take Cameron Nairn and Zac McCarthy somehow as well.
That’s a lot of list spots considering all we are hearing out of the Eagles is they will be trying to also bring in mature bodies

Jed is definitely one to keep a watch on, think Ethan Read has gone past him in Dimmas view.

Agree with majority of the sentiment. Pass on McDonald, interested in Walter.
He was born in WA, plays with absolute intensity and has been out of favour (recently) at Gold Coast.

Would do a straight swap > Pick 2 for Walter.

Not many of that draft class that haven’t extended either.

I think no matter what they hold him this year incase Ben King leaves as a FA next year.

Schofield apparently knew about Harley’s extension 8 weeks ago. Has been also been dropping the Jed to Eagles hints around the same time.

Argued this with some Bris fan in another board. There’s genuinely 4 or 5 guys I’d rather get games into than play Starvevich. Grego and Bo most importantly. I’d rather play those 2 all of next year over Starcevich and Cole
What ? Starcivich is great . Fast , tough as nails , neat kick under pressure and really good 1 on 1 defender .

The only issue I have is his recent concussions

This is the same argument as this time last year re: Baker 'he is just a migit back pocket, id rather get games into (insert young player here).Yet, where would we be without Baker?

Starc will be an important cog in our rebuild, solid premiership player that costs us sweet FA.

If the Eagles can get their schite together in the WAFL, i have no issue with young players taking their time developing there having to earn a spot in the 22

GC will want to keep Jed for Max King insurance given he's a free agent next year and will want all the money, and will get it, from a Melbourne based team.
Ben, not Max and almost no way he’ll leave GCS. Just need to see Hardwick’s little shout out to Jed in his presser, seemed a bit nervous.

Important cog is a stretch. He'll be a handy player but his value to us is that he'll be cheap and it allows us to play one of Baker/Duggan forward.

Wheres does Jed fit though?

Waterman, Jobe and resting ruck seems tall enough

Plus mini game style is run and carry, would be too tall even if we have 2nd ruck on the bench (assuming rule change).

With a young team, we'd need an extra runner on the bench

Well that’s just it, we don’t need KPFs. If the new ruck rules and 5 on the bench happen I think most teams will play 2 versatile athletic ruckman unless they have a gun ruck with a huge tank like Gawn or Xerri.

Jed’s defensive pressure is superb and probably better than most of our small forwards which is appealing but I don’t know if Jed, Jobe and Snake can all play F50 at once if none of them are going to ruck there.

Why are we talking about McDonald? Is there information somewhere that Sydney are shopping him to us or that they are looking to trade with us for pick 2? Or is this just a random thing somebody threw up on the Board that has sparked pages of debate?
Sydney would love to get curnow . He would effectively replace MacDonald.

They would want to get MacDonalds salary off the books and a good enough pick to satisfy Carlton.

I would be happy to avoid the whole Sydney Carlton curnow trade TBH

Don't get me wrong i'd be happy next year watchign Warner run around for us, just think we need to look long term. Build through draft, add Warner in two years in free agency when the draft is ****ed anyway thanks to Tassie, and we are loaded with kids ready to make the jump.

Gotta remember we're trading with GC here.

Pick 2 and some of our 2nd and 3rd picks for Walter and one of their Firsts. We could even possibly upgrade the Hawks pick as well - their current first round picks will all get eaten by matching so pick 2 at least is of value to them.

Any chance Logan to Carlton with a pick to even it out?
