Would us bringing in McVee affect the compensation for Allen?

I take it we’d look to offer a later pick for him as opposed to picking him up as a restricted free agent?

How would Gold Coast have points to match their bids in this scenario?

OOC and on a rookie contract so only need to come to a trade agreement.
Being OOC and a rookie he would probably be worth a 3rd and 4th round like Brockman?

Taking CDT at #1 then splitting pick 2 into 10 and 16 and taking Fred and Cody despite already having a pick roughly in that range would be absolutely pathognomonic of our list management strategy.

Oh yeah totally.

McVee doesn’t move the needle in any real way. He’s a back pocket that’s a bit ordinary.

Cole level player.
Nope. He’s all class and would add some much needed skill and composure to our team. Absolutely coughing up a late first rounder for him in this draft personally.

McVee was elevated to the senior list at the end of last year.

Interesting selections for the PA game.
Kelly, Brock, B Allan omitted.

If we are keen on CDT, swap 2 for 8+12 and then trade 12 is involved in a Cameron trade, what does that mean for Archer Reid?

Keen to see what we do with Archer in the WAFL for the rest of the year, does he stay as a defender like he did late last week? He almost has to just to have a chance at a game next year

CDT would have to play as that backup ruck probably, like an Ethan Read at GCS has been doing, so we line up with Shanahan, Waterman and CDT as our 3 pillars up forward.

Jack Williams and Bailey Williams no longer have a guaranteed spot in our f50, do any of those guys ask for a trade in this situation? Theyre too good for both of them to just be sitting in the WAFL

Do we include either Williams in a Cameron trade?
Either Williams + 12 + hawks 2nd(32) for Cameron + Pies f1(likely 15-18)? (or something along that line of thinking)
Could we try to pawn off Johnston/Long here too to free up a list spot?

Then trade 19 for McVee? or 19 for Sheldrick? 19 for Erasmus + future picks from Freo? or involve 19 in a trade for some other mature mid doesnt really matter who for this.

List changes end up as
Sheed -> McCarthy
Gov -> Newton
Barnett -> CDT
Jamo -> Grlj/Cumming/whoever at pick 8
Petch -> Rodriguez/whoever at pick 14
Hunt -> McVee (could be Erasmus/Sheldrick here either)
Allen -> Darcy Cameron
B/JWilliams -> Evans (NGA)
Chesser -> Williams(NGA)
Rawlinson -> Banfield(f/s)

If we traded another kid like Johnston/Long we could keep Chesser, id prefer that at this stage but its a wait and see.

Result:
Draft 2 mids and a ruckman + NGAs(mid, fwd, and a winger)
Trade for a good ruckman and a half back/mid

Example best 22 for next year:
FB: Ginbey Edwards Baker
HB: McVee Brock McCarthy
C: Maric Hough Hutchinson
HF: Cumming Shanahan Graham
FF: Brockman Waterman Ryan
R: Cameron Reid Hewett
Int: CDT Allan Yeo Duggan

Next up Cole, A.Reid, Cripps, Owies, Hall, Gross, Bazzo, B/JWilliams, Flynn, Dewar, etc
WAFL side sounds pretty good all of a sudden.

If we get McVee it would have to be via trade

Very concerning already there is talk of splitting our potential pick 2 (Oscar Allen compensation) we need to pick the two best kids in the draft and not role the dice. I guess the club are thinking they want to get ahead of Fremantle for possibly one of the W.A prospects.

Are you suggesting 19 for McVee straight up or with something else coming back our way?

You're concerned about a rumour 4 months before the draft involving a pick we currently don't have?

Between the CDT preference and the pick split, this should piss everyone off nicely.

Channel 10 have been pretty good over in the Perth this year breaking news ect.

I’ll leave the CDT thing. That seems fair if that’s the way they rate them.

To be talking about the splitting of a pick they don’t even have yet, us and the Suns must be confident it’s band 1. Good news but as expected.

The split makes no sense imo. I assume ours and Hawks round 2 picks are going the other way to help them to be able to match 3 kids. Leaves them with Pies 1st, our 2nd and Hawks 2nd. Assume they might split them again ect.

Our side, it only makes sense if we have players lined up in a trade with at least a couple of those picks. None of the mids linked are around the price. So won’t be addressing the midfield issue again unless it’s with a kid in the teens in a weak draft. I’m hoping players are involved? Moyle? Doubt it. Powell? Hopefully. Flanders? Unlikely and hopefully. Davies? Hardly worth a mention. If not that will give us 4 picks and possibly 4 NGA/FS without getting a mature key back, Ruck or mid. Lots of list cuts. Ryan going the other way? I can’t see this being a win for us unless Flanders and/or Moyle are involved.

Predicted picks by SEN after 2x Band 1.
Pick1
Pick10 -(Power) - Likely 13 after bids*
Pick14- 18*
Pick15- 19*
Wtf …. Cant even look forward to Trade week anymore haha.

Lose 2 key defenders + 1 Fwd/Ruck + 1 Ruck and only bring in one tall (ruck) ready to play and no key defenders when we are already low in stock looks a disaster imo.

Straight for McVee.
Maybe straight for Sheldrick, something back if its Erasmus/Phillips or whoever else. Pick 19 doesnt sound like its worth a lot this year
