Compare Hawthorn's inside 50 numbers to the Eagles this season.

Not to mention quality of entries and quality of forwards the defense needs to cover.

Ginnivan SHOULD be miles ahead of Ryan stat's wise. One player is in a team who knows what it's doing. Ryan is playing in the team landing another wooden spoon.
No worries… check every other stat and tell me where Ryan is a much better player than ginnivan … and Ryan is well on the decline whilst ginnivan is still going up…

I am all for trying to pick up a bargain from another club. But we need to be careful we don't start importing list cloggers. And what i mean by that is players who have already hit their ceiling and are sitting right on the margin of being AFL standard or not. They will play better in a game next week than the 19 year old 2nd year player with zero games of experience, but there is no upside to them because there is no improvement left to come and they will never be a clear cut quality player. They will never play well enough to impact the outcome of games. All we are doing by importing them is slowing down the process of putting games into the 19 year old. I see Dev Robertson as a list clogger.

Few signings popping up all of a sudden, and they seem to be young WA talent. West Coast pursuing heavily in the background making clubs go early or just a coincidence that names are thrown up and then get locked away?
good to see us applying pressure - presumably players getting better deals as a result. We want 1-2 good players with experience - not coming home average boys.

When Ginnavin is playing g for the current wooden spoon side I will.

That is the point.

He has a decent midfield providing supply. He also has other quality forwards talls and smalls the opposition need to worry about.

If you haven't noticed we don't. :$

Best player available for picks 1 & 2, so it's CDT and Dursma. But your right everyone here want to trade those picks, I suspect so we can stay at the bottom.

Infiltration by Fremantle and Hawks fans?

That's not how drafts work. There is no consensus top 2 picks in this years draft and there is likely to be divergent opinion.

CDT has had his colours lowered repeatedly and some people haven't paid attention. Hopefully Westcoast are.

There wasn't really a consensus Top 2 at this time last year either - that will take real shape over the next couple of months when phantom drafts start to drop and 'experts' start copying each other's opinions.

No I’m dismissing option A because option B is a better option. You have assets (picks) to spend, you spend it on the best option. The talent at picks 32 and 48 this year is not better than having Cameron. If you disagree thats fine but your egg analogy is absolutely ridiculous and has nothing to do with what we’re talking about which in simple terms is an opportunity cost.

Was this also true in the 2015 draft when we should have drafted Cameron?

The lesser Ashcroft was pretty popular.

Ginnivan is miles ahead of Ryan as a complete footballer, Ryan has more X factor. I wonder if Ryan could train hard if he would get to that level.

Ginners is a seagull of the highest order. Would struggle to get a kick at the Eagles.

Maybe yet he is still miles ahead of the player he was compared to for our side in terms of hardness

I haven't watched the WAFL games but from what people on here have been saying i would have thought he has shown enough to be worth giving him another year just on what he has done so far regardless of if he plays again this season.
With us having Long, Champion and soon to possibly have Wes Walley and Tylah Williams, I don't think Newton should be retained. Hasn't shown enough for mine to keep him.

Newton looks worth preserving with imo. A player who deserves a full preseason.

But of luck we get some extra list spots via afl.

Newton's body looks AFL ready, I reckon he could be parachuted into the team and do more than Owies and maybe Cripps. And he's a decent user of the ball and decision maker. Hopefully we give him another year.
