There could be a position battle between these two during 2007, Cook is getting old and perhaps you's want a younger player to fill the role.

Who would you rather have in your side?

who ever does the job the best. I love watching cookie play though. Hopefully he comes through on top!

i hope that if it comes down to a choice between these two that cookie monster makes it into the side. probably they will both play a fiar few matches though, but i never really liked soloman at the bummers, i still have a bit of hate for him on the inside :D

It will be horses for courses with both (due the nature of how they play) likely to have some anxious waits during the weekly after match video reviews.

If you want to win Grand Finals, you can't have too many of these type of players.

I actually haven't seen Cook lining up at CHF too often as Solomon did in the Intrac-club. Not that I am expecting him to do that for us either, but it does illustrate the difference between them. Pick the best team every week, regardless of sentiment.

I totally disagree, every team needs their "Cowboys" as Sheedy puts it, there is still room in today's AFL for the 'enforcers' if you look at Essendon's Half-Back line in 2000 (Wellman/Soloman, Wallis, Hardwick) they don't come much tougher than that and more specifically they make your team-mates walk taller.

Having so much criticism hurled at us for being too soft, now we have two hard men in the team and people are saying there's not enough room for the two of them?? Bring them both on, one for the forward line, one for the midfield, we'll be a team to be feared!!

Soloman's versatility will see him play most matches at the expense of one-dimentional players like Cook. I prefer Cook, but I see Soloman getting more games. Coaches give players they've brought to the club more chances than other players to earn their spot in the side (this is a general rule for all sports) and this IMO will also contribute to Soloman playing more games than Cook.

Only caught the first half of the game last night. Didn’t see Solomon do that much, but there was one ripper tackle he did that impressed me greatly. I thought the eagle player (Staker?) would bounce out of the tackle as many of them had been doing during the game, but Solomon hung on and bulldozed him. Was good to see.
