Haven't tried Coopers Clear but Coopers recently became a sponsor of North so it will be Coopers at Prospect this year!

Anything that removes the influence of SA brewing from SA sport and replaces it with Coopers i'm a fan of:thumbsu:

Now just sponsor the SACA please Coopers!

Interesting that Coopers would sponsor another SANFL side however considering Glen Cooper's passion for the Legs!

Not really a fan at all. Of Coopers' beers, the best for a summer afternoon is their 62 Pilsener. Absolute ripper of a beer. In any case, their strength will always be their ales.

Way back in january before I foolishly entered a dodgey bet on how long i could go alcohol free I bought a carton of Clear and at first I wasn't sold but after adding a slice of lemon I rated it highly...especially after my seventh one! bring on tonight March 1st as it ends 33 days alcohol free! Although no clear tonight paleys all the way!:D

Your lack of punctuation gives off the impression that you've broken your abstinence prematurely.

The Clear is very drinkable, but tis a bit bland. The Corona reference is a bit harsh...it is drinkable after all (and you dont need to stuff it with citrus to make it taste alright, loking like a metro w***er in the mean time).

Prefer Super Drys for a low carby. Agree with the FU though, '62' ftw!

Never had it but get a few bottle of Bee Sting beer. That’s good stuff.

i recon there a bottle of it in my car but after Saturday night.

I got some on the release night... really just tasted like water. Bit disappointed in their '62 pilsener as well, it's not bad but I much prefer the Lobethal Bierhaus' offering.

The sparkling, pale and stout are all still pretty much untouchable, though.

I don't mind clear, but don't rate it highly either. I choose to drink coopers for the solidity of the Ales. I can get a similar brew to clear from a variety of other brewers.

Which is more the point - it's not about converting the Ale drinkers they already have, it's about stealing market share from a growth area they haven't occupied until now.

huh? they first launched it in the very early 90's.

what am I missing here?

Similar name, different beer.

They used to have one called Coopers Premium Clear Ale, but it was very much a different product.

It was dropped, along with the Finest Export Ale (their first, and failed, attempt to break into the US market), somewhere around the late nineties and replaced a few years later with (the different again) Coopers Extra Strong Vintage Ale.

Coopers Mexican Cerveza. :thumbsu:

I'm brewing some of that at the moment. I've bottled it and now I just have it maturing. I have to wait at least a whole month. So frustrating, I just want to smash it now. Should be ready for the footy season.

Coopers Mexican Cerveza will be worth the wait. Best home brew of all.
