Victorian Government have now formally announced that School Holidays will commence from Tuesday and that all non-essential gathering will be shut down. Non-essential is an interesting dimension because this rule applies to hotels, restaurants, everything other than food distribution outlets, health care facilities, and essential government services.

Think about the entire State taking an extended Christmas Day. The footy may well not be exempt, even though it is providing some sense of normality ATM.

cant see the foooty going ahead , its not just the vic shutdown, there are the border closures as well to contend with. logistically its simply not sensible to continue on.

I know I'm getting pissed about the footy being cancelled, like big deal, but this really does suck shit and its going to hurt businesses, hurt clubs, and is going to have some long term ramifications on the game.
