If there's no appreciation of The Arts, whats the point of stopping Covid-19?

I pity those that don't understand the benefits to society of the study of The Arts. They have very little to live for.

Its a cyber punk novel about computer viruses actually infecting the software inside peoples brains. Its set in the US after some massive collapse. Society still functions, sort of but the federal gov is a shadow of its former self.

The US has split into large economic groups like those in the tweets above. It also has a bit of a focus on viruses and language.

Its a very Libertarian society. EG The mafia has a monopoly on Pizza delivery and a 30 minute delivery guarantee that's never been needed, CP's the couriers don't want to die painfully.

It's still America but the states are barely united.

I'd always wondered what could have caused that sort of fracturing in the US. This could be it weirdly enough.
