I gave up on most news for months and it made me feel better, just constant doom mongering.

COVID-19 has dragged me back in so I need to practice distancing myself from it a bit.

I like reading this thread, real peoples perspectives and interesting articles that are shared.
I haven't watched the news or most tv since 2010 grand final. Most of what I watch is sport.

Next step is to take out the other stuff like the the internet news.

I've taken to listening to podcasts. I'm currently listening to Conan O'Brien Needs A Friend.

It's a pain in the arse isn't it. I had booked a trip to Greece for my 30th mid-year, and now I can't even get properly in good nick for that.

Been doing Arnies home workout the past week or so. It's pretty basic. But I've got absolutely nothing at home. Cardio out the window. Pair of gloves and nothing to hit. I'll be #5 on that picture soon enough.

I bought this bad boy 2nd hand last week. Been doing ten 3 minute rounds with a 1 minute break in between. Bloody exhausted by the end.

I might come out of isolation in better nick than I went in! 🤪

Lucky...I'd get one but have nowhere to put it.

The possibility of life elsewhere within an infinite universe has to be very strong. However, that isn't the same thing as Billy Bob in Arkansas and Jethro in Tennessee believing there are aliens living amongst us now, with the knowledge of the U.S. government. :D

I yeehawed after reading this and my family is now having a conversation about whether I’m finally around the bend.

i am going to by chromecast tomorrow from officeworks. or call them and get it delivered. which should i do? kmart has them for $55
is chromecast a good idea>
If money is an issue then Chromecast is fine. You can mirror pretty much every thing to your TV using Google Home.

Yeah, same, I was getting a bit over it after spending days reading everything I could on facebook. When I went up to the country for the day I came home and nothing had changed since last time I had looked. Be safe and sensible and just try to get through it.
Two days ago was getting pretty anxious so yesterday made a decision to not watch all the news, just checked in during the morning over breakfast.
I figure it will be like this for months so my job is to do what I am told to do, WFH, and live my life.
Anxiety has gone.

He is a funny kent. Anna Faris Unqualified is very good as is Dax Shepard.

The Rewatchables with Bill Simmonds is very good.
A good war film review pod is Friendly Fire.

Also so glad I dumped Twitter, did my head in during the bushfires, cant imagine what it is like now.

A mate has a couple of days work for me. I can't believe how happy I am to be getting out of the house, I love my kids but they are doing my head in. My son is one of those kids who needs heaps of sports activities to run off his energy, with out it he thinks he's practicing for the Jackass crew. My daughter rages and hits him a lot. I'm pretty sure I'll come home to my wife rocking in the corner and the kids at war.

The daily growth rate of coronavirus cases in Australia has fallen so significantly that the federal Health Minister believes "we are now flattening the curve".

Greg Hunt said the daily increase in cases had dropped from 25–30 per cent just over a week ago to 9 per cent this week.

Neither do I but in the last week our cases have increased by 100% but in the preceding week they increased by 300%, the week before 400%+

Physical distancing is starting to have an impact. That and the lack of cruise ships and skiers returning back to Australia!!

My concern, besides the pockets of outbreaks such as in SA and NSW is the broader impact of the virus not only here but in the States, Europe and when China will open up again. The impact on hospitality, retail etc has already been huge - we can not let up yet and should be looking at what happens in 6 months, a years time.

What is the count? 8 cruise ships off Australia’s coast asking to disembark passengers here for repatriation?

Makes the phrase 'stopping the boats' have a different slant.

All those quarantined in 5 star hotels having a whinge should have been sent to Nauru or Christmas Island and seen if that is any better.

Just read this morning that there are 9 cruise ships apparently moored in or just out of Sydney.

Does any one understand why the Gov. is ordering cruise ships out of Australian waters?

It’s a battle that’s been played out since the ruby princess, they were ordered to leave and return to there home ports but have been “loitering” outside our territory refusing to leave. NSW police commissioner was pretty clear his first duty is to the people of NSW.

Time for DFF and all the foreign governments to get involved, there soon won't be a port in the world that will take them, they'll become death ships. Bring them in get the Aus. citizens off and get the rest on planes to their country of origin, isn't the W.A. government doing that?

Don't want them to flood our system, don't want them to die either, we'll have to make a choice between bad outcomes.

Seems untenable to just leave them if they refuse to leave which they have.

I watched the police commissioner and he was making all the right noises about protecting the public but the end game here is they’ve essentially called his bluff. I have no idea how many people are on each ship but it’s going to be a nightmare logistically for NSW.

I think behind the scenes they’ll be trying to figure out how to quarantine and repatriate the healthy and treat the sick without overwhelming their hospitals. Nobody else is going to volunteer to share the load, WA completely melted over
the ruby princess and who can blame them, passengers from that ship have spread the virus all over the country.

I can’t help but think if a ship is in your waters when the gun goes off it’s your problem. I’m a short stroll from where Victoria’s first quarantine was established at point Ormond.

I can only imagine the pressure on the ships' captains, every where 2 weeks way, no one wanting them and a ship full of people, disease, panic and anger.
