Could Josh Kennedy...

Absolutely, Pagan had no idea how to play him; ruck, forward pocket, benched for copious amounts of time, anywhere BUT his natural position.

Is absolutely killing it now he's at CHF (and well conditioned), hope he continues his form.

He was butchered at Carlton

Reported in the paper last Friday that contract negotiations could be finalised soon for a 2 or 3 year deal... When fit Hansen and Kennedy combined would be fantastic...

Supporters are so fickle... they are not fully informed and turn so quickly

Was a joke mate.

Relax geez, fickle indeed.

I've never wavered in my belief that Keneddy will be a star. I desperately wanted him at Hawthorn with our #3 pick in '05, this kid has a vice-like grip on the ball in contested situations.

Dunno about comparisons with Murphy, he is also an out-and-out gun...I'd always go the big bloke though.

Enjoy it while you can cause Kennedy will be a blue again the second his contracts up. Unless you don't think a gun player would want to leave your club, oh thats right.....

Josh Kennedy is the best mark in the AFL for a player under 22.
You'd take Gumbleton ahead of Kennedy in a heartbeat.

Hawkins is a better mark than Kennedy.
Also he is a very hard match up as he runs all day is quite tall. Would be hard to find a backmen with the same aerobic ability coupled with height.
Did you see the Fridge chasing Waite down the ground after Jarrad turned him inside out?

He moves on rails.

Lachlan Hansen, Croad and Ryder are a match for Kennedy on the lead and in the air.

Kennedy won't be better than Murphy, but he will be better than Thomas and Pendlebury because he has a heart and contests like his life depends on it.

Don't worry Bradley and Tarrant will be as good.

Say good bye to Warnock as well.

He killed Waite last week.

Waite got moved from Brown within the quarter last night,

He won't be better than Murphy but definately better than Gibbs and Waite

turn out a better player than Marc Murphy? Has taken a few years & has generally struggled to adapt to AFL but he is really stepping up. Beautiful hands.

While Kennedy has improved drasticly this year, so has murph and he looks better each week.

Good luck to Kennedy though hope he has a great carear

Oh geez, last year we gave up a dud who would never be anything and were accused of pumping him up to make it sound like a decent deal. This year we have made a mistake.

90% of this place are experts in hindsight.

Only those that said that we would regret this because Kennedy was a gun prior to the trade, should have any sort of input.
that counts me out, i thought kennedy was an outright dud.

"but he was a top 5 pick", they said, "no, hes a CARLTON top 5 pick" i said. "up there with luke livingstone"

i dont think he will top murphy, but he is certainly looking the goods so far this year

both kennedy & murph are gun players no doubt.
would love to have kennedy at richmond.

but gibbs is a dissapointment. 2 minutes remaining in the 2nd quater before halftime explains it all weak as piss

very impressive. works hard. i know you cant compensate for the loss of judd, but there is a lot to like about kennedy.

No, he won't. His value will be too high by then.

I have always been a big wrap for Kennedy, and it looks as though, with the help of good coaching staff, he'll reach his lofty potential. Throw in the Rolls Royce Chris Masten and Tony Notte and Carlton paid WAY too much for one of the top 20 midfielders in the competition.

Time will tell on Notte, he's showing a lot of promise so far, but so did Andrew Mcdougall in the early part of his career as well

Wow you're treating Pav real well down at the port.

Spot on. Its rare for an opposition supporter to provide a sensible analysis of an opposition team. You obviously know your footy. We need to draft a few speedy outside midfielders with those 2 picks this year - Daniel Rich would be a dream come true.

Considering our two gun running wingers from a couple years ago (Embley & Braun) will probably move to the backline and forward lines respectively and our running linkman (R.Jones) retiring last year (and the obvious Judd & Cousins losses) - I agree that runners in the midfield are what we require.

they'll probably give us pick 3, 20 and a young guy they've been butchering in return though, hahahaa.

Who will probably return to Carlton 3 years after, and they will again then give us picks 3,20 and a young guy they've been butchering in return, who will then also want to return after 3 years...

:D

Who cares, Pendles is giving both of them a football lesson. :)

I saw McGrath outbody Bentick with two minutes left in the second quarter and AB went to ground.

Where was Gibbs?

I saw Gibbs trying to run down McGrath, but not make up any ground on a quicker opponent.

That was a better effort than we saw from Tambling in round one of 07 when he let Carrazzo turn him and he didn't even attempt to run him down.
