Could Pyke develop into a Tippett style marking forward / 2nd ruckman?

Not sure what you mean, Pyke carried the ruck for a qtr and dominated. But a whole season? I'd like to see any ruckman do that

Ah sorry I thought you meant in an individual game.

At least we won't have to worry about our ruck stocks when Tippo comes in. The three of them would have to be the best ruck combo in the comp. Especially when Mummy throws that considerable chest into the contest. We might have to turn one of them into a defender

... goodes gets freed up.
This is the best part :)

Solid ruck, ample forward targets, and Goodes in the middle where he belongs. Only question is who misses out? There's plenty of room in the backline until LRT returns.

I don't see Pyke spending any more time forward with Tippet coming in. Pykie's probably my favourite Swans player ATM. He's improved out of sight up forward (as already mentioned above) so that box is ticked. But I'd like to see him back himself more around the ground (in attack I mean, his defensive efforts seem well above average to me - for a ruckman anyway). All this handing off to other players after a mark is a bit tedious.

If only he was a few years younger...

I wouldn't worry about his age. He is a very 'young' 29 year old. Should he keep learning & developing his knowledge of the gameplan even more, I can see him playing another 5 years. He is very lean yet muscular which stands players in good stead in longevity terms (Dustin Fletcher).

It's a real credit to him that he has given us more faith in him every time he pulls on the jumper. I look forward to Pyke showing me more every week. He rises to a challenge.

Last week when we were gone, he went up a notch & kicked a crunch goal, that could have given us a sniff of victory if the others did their part defensively. He didn't miss, unlike Goodesy who missed two crucial ones in the third. (sorry Goodesy..........................a bit harsh).
I really trust Pyke now!

I do not want to see Tippett anywhere near the ruck when he comes in. The guy should be a key forward 100% of the time.

I think he won't play as a ruckman at all, much like Goodesy, so that he can play the game longer. He is too big a risk in the ruck & has more upside if he can use his athleticism as a forward. Perhaps take the odd boundary throw in which isn't as physical.

I wouldn't be surprised if that's what was put to him in order to swing him our way. His concussion risk would increase as a ruckman.
Other teams (brisbane, GWS, GC) would have had to use him as a ruckman.

Just my thoughts!
