But they have it in America?
Dwayne Russell actually just said something like: "You need to know when to effect the full court press and pinch the ball". I'm not kidding.

The runners constantly get the message out to the players, why shouldn't the fans know how long is left.
Actually it will add some interest and intrigue in terms of seeing teams create 'set plays' during the final quarter if they scores are close and they know how much time is remanining ...
People should be 'open minded' to something new and interesting ..
Because I don't want to ****ing know.
It's neither new nor interesting, just another slice off the originality and unique format of our once superb game.
Scenario, first quarter 15 seconds left and Fevola lining up from 60 metres but sees eddie Betts on a good lead up the corridor or to the pocket....what do you doSo tell me what a player is thinking after a quarter has gone 29 minutes? That he still has 5 minutes left to do what he wants? Hardly. No-one need know the exact time remaining to give the game an exciting finish.

So because you don't want something, the rest of us shouldn't get it?
Live at the game it's very new and it's very interesting, it could work or it may not, I don't think we'll see it during the regular season any time soon but it'll be interesting to see how it goes.
Although, I do remember going to Princes Park back when I was a wee young fella and seeing the old analog clock on the scoreboard. Which was even harder to tell how long had been played, it wasn't digital, it didn't have the seconds and it wasn't easily viewed from the other end of the ground.

Scenario, first quarter 15 seconds left and Fevola lining up from 60 metres but sees eddie Betts on a good lead up the corridor or to the pocket....what do you do
Also streaming of half back with 15 seconds left... what do you do go wide and run down the clock or drive it to a 1 on 1 contest inside 50 in case we get a mark, crumb or better yet a free kick from a panicked defender.
Deliberate out of bounds paid in forward pocket 40 out and theres only 8 seconds left... what do you do have a set shot bannana after the 1/4 time bell or chip it backwards outside 50 looking to square it up and the siren sounds whilst doing this or you play on and run around from the boundary line only to have the siren sound on you??
The countdown clock could add another dimension to footy smarts and clock management and make our game even more professional whilst potentially adding some great highlights!

Well, der.
I thought you said the players already know how much time is left? How are these scenarios any different to the status quo then?
