Lyon doesnt want Cousins, but the board may overule him and force him to take him like Gehrig.
Another matter and it was amazing to hear that the STKILDA team was removed from training at Princess Park Friday by the Park Ranger, tipping next time they might book it!! 1/2 hr into training and then off they went to the amusement of the coach

Then why are we going for him if the Coach does not want him. I'm sure if the Coach does not want him that's the end of it.
Beedee knows his shit. But he can be way off. I really appreciate what you do, but i'm hoping this one is way off.

Both Lyon and football operations general manager Matthew Drain will present a submission to the board outlining reasons why the champion midfielder would be a good fit for a club that sees itself in premiership mode.

Says in the Age today that Lyon has met with Cousins at least 3 times, so if he isn't intrested why would he be wasting his time ???

Due diligence as the public face of the club. (especially since now Achies on holiday for a week or so) while I agree it shows positivity in wanting to draft him, there is also the concept of misinformation where Lyon could be meeting with Cousins to give the public perception of happiness with the idea but behind closed doors is against the idea.

When you think of the public perception though;

Dempster + Schneider = "lol Saints are Swans dumping ground"
Gehrig + Gardiner + Cousins = Eagles dumping ground?

How can you possibly suggest that the G Train was dumped at St. Kilda and wasn't a valuable pickup ?

And I think that Dempster and Schneider will be more than worth the investment.

:confused:

Where was I suggesting, unless "public perception" means me singularly? In which case, freaking awesome I'm like a badass Voltron!

There were question marks raised, whether we liked them or not, with the Sydney connection, players, coach, game style. How long, if we then got Cousins before those same individuals harped up again? There are already the few still harping on about the WCE connection (Cuz+Gardiner) they would only gain momentum if other things fell into place as well.

Also, dumping ground merely was supposed to mean traded, just that some are / were / whatever again in the public as discards instead of decent trades.

Well the board would have been spot on with Gehrig, because if he had been able to play at least we would have had a forward option. I didn't see Ross coming up with anything much apart from kick it to Nick.

Don't balme the Ross for just kick it to Nick. We did have the worst forward coach of the year John Barker. The Hawks will not win another premiership as long as he is there.
