Yes they have said why
What's the reason ? I haven't watched and Andrews, Sutton or Mikakos presser in well over 2 months.

Changes to Aged Care reporting between the home the feds and the states to standardise and allow auditing. What's the reason ? I haven't watched and Andrews, Sutton or Mikakos presser in well over 2 months.
Not that I'll watch the presser today, but hopefully it gives Victorians some sort of hope, wouldn't bet on it though.
They are prepping us for staying in stage 4 until the seven day average is around 10 cases a day looks like.
They aren't expecting those kind of numbers for another month
Hopefully we get some good clarity
If they link easing of restrictions to numbers we won't know how long until we get there.Ouch that'll be 10 weeks of stage 4 by that point and 14 consecutive weeks of stage 3 +
That mismanaged hotel quarantine setup and contact tracing really causing lots of pain and suffering on all fronts.
Clarity - Dan doesn't exactly specialise in clarityThey are prepping us for staying in stage 4 until the seven day average is around 10 cases a day looks like.

From the outside looking in I just feel awful for everyone
politically it’s a nightmare
For those living there it’s a nightmare
Economy is suffering
Elderly are unnecessarily dying
And Morrison is making a cubby house for his tween
the only one winning atm is Rona
The Ruby Princess is easily the greatest debacle in virus management in Australia - 28 people died before the outbreak was completely closed.
To put that in perspective if the Ruby Princess continued to dock every single week in Sydney that would now be up to a total of 672 deaths.
In contrast Dan is doing a super job with hotel quarantine - just two hotel outbreaks - just a mere 666 deaths so far - neither outbreak contained yet.
The key difference between the numbers of the Ruby Princess and the Hotel Quarantine is that:Yes - Dan is responsible for casualisation and infected workers moving between federally controlled nursing homes.
The difference is with the ruby Princess they had a passenger list. The key difference between the numbers of the Ruby Princess and the Hotel Quarantine is that:
While Ruby Princess started with a much much larger number of infected people, the problem was contained quickly and efficiently.
Victoria had months to get their systems in place and didn't.
Public communication was poor - how many days did it take before it was publicly announced that there had been an outbreak in the hotels?
Contact tracing team didn't have a proper IT system set up until very recently
Some people who had the virus linked the hotel outbreak kept not following DHHS directives
For some reason the Victorian government doesn't like to tell you about outbreaks until they are reasonably large. Compare that to NSW and QLD who tell you all the places that if you've been to recently at particular times you should get a test.
Rydges outbreak was May 25 I think, next Victorian death was June 24 and then two on July 6, so ignoring the actual stuff up at Rydges if they had:
1. Fixed the systems so Stamford Plaza didn't happen (they had 3 weeks to do that)
2. Totally contained the Rydges outbreak within a month
then maybe no deaths would have happened linked to Hotel Quarantine at all
That they did.The difference is with the ruby Princess they had a passenger list.
You're missing the point. By the time they knew where the outbreak came from it was already too late. That they did.
But they also managed to trace successfully any of the passengers close contacts over subsequent days.
I'm sure that the Vic Gov had a list of the 6 or 7 security guards and the 1 hotel staff member...

I agree that the Prime Minister could have done better with the App and with Aged Care, but that was in NSW too - IIRC a number of people from the Ruby Princess I think went home to an aged care home didn't they? The ruby princess was contained more effectively because the infected were spread across the states and the world. We’ve no idea what the death rate from the ruby princess fiasco was overseas.
I’m not sure what systems could have been put in place to prevent people going to work at multiple locations as was the case. Once it was in nursing homes that had no infection control in place there was no chance at all of containing the outbreaks and because they are highly susceptible it stands to reason that the deaths continue.
He has made mistakes there’s no doubt about that - there are things that have been done differently but that’s happened In each state. Contrary to what people think I don’t agree that the national cabinet has been a success - if it had then every state would of been on the same plan, using the same resources and working together. As it stands every state is now doing its own thing and confusion reigns
Responsibility also has to be taken by the federal government - what happened to the much vaunted app that we were encouraged to download.
Why didn’t they step up when the first outbreak occurred in Newmarch house and 17 people died - why didn’t directives go out across Australia as to what needed to be done in to prevent outbreaks like that occurring again
I also don’t think enough was done in educating the multicultural hubs - how many messages went out in different languages. How many people didn’t answer the door out of fear Or because they didn’t understand.
How many people continued to go to work because they couldn’t afford to stay home because jobkeeper didn’t go to casuals which was a disastrous decision considering it’s what this country seems to be built on these days
Anyway I don’t live there so it’s easy for me to sit back and offer up opinions without having a clue to how difficult it’s been - just hope that regardless of yesterday’s protest that people continue to go the distance and you come out the other side in a good space
We are locked down to get community transmission under control.Looks like one of the most promising vaccine the astrazenica/oxford one has serious problems.
Trial paused when one patient developed transverse myelitis,
Will this lead to a rethink in victoria? If no safe vaccines are available= how long can we lock down for?

Nothing to do with a vaccine.
