I doubt Stanley will be dropped for Cook, as he's only had the one game in the best and they'll be keen to keep Stanners' confidence up. Licuria is another matter though, it's hard to know who he'll replace (as opposed to who I think he should replace).

Clement unlikely to return this week.

MM said an interesting thing last couple of days - the replacements should not think of themselves as fill-ins, or they'll play like fill-ins. I'd go further and say whoever's on Barry should have the attitude "i'm out to bully/dominate Barry" - if Wakelin can't keep up then I think that maybe should be cox who looks the toughest of the newbies. go out and right away start roughing him up and right through the game. Changes the whole scene, from struggling skinny kid trying to keep up to showing a real presence, threatening and intimidating and of course taking every opportunity to win contests so it's not just bluster but backed up with ability.

Need these kids to show that they're *SOMEBODY* (well not quite as tough as me maybe....).

I agree that Cox might be the best option given our lack of experienced, fit, backmen. But does anyone else find it fascinating that we are in a position where we are desperately keen to get a 4 game player back into the team??

Not really - We're missing our three best senior KP defenders at the moment, as well as our 2nd best rebounding defender.

Cox has more experience than anyone on our list at playing both roles, and has looked more natural in them than anyone else. I mean, the number of games is pretty much irrelevant in comparison with how they've looked at AFL level.

After Dale Thomas' first game, it would have been fair to say that we would have missed his spark if he had been injured and missed the next week, and that we would have been waiting for him to come back.

Only problem with your theory is that not only are we undermanned defensively, but they are much better at that method of play then any other team! We'd have to play them at their own game and play it better!

Yes seems fit to come back in which might leave Toovey being ommited. He needs to sharpen up a little bit at Willy. Cox seems like a very matured 4-gamer lol so his an obvious choice to come in.

I know Clement is our best defender, but Presti is our biggest loss. With Wakelin looking shot we are going to struggle for a few weeks against the bigger forwards.

It's a matter of hoping our forwards can fire.

If worst came to worst, I'd personally go with Cloke. Leaves us a bit shabby down front, but hopefully if Rocca is playing better and then we have Didak, Meddas and Davis up there too, then maybe we can afford to let him go down there.
His played down back before and look comfortable, he is obviously a pretty versatile player.

Personally he'd be my backup for Wakes, Maxwell has been shocking on whoever he has had, consistenly getting beaten one on one, so theres no chance his gonna be able to take Hall.
Cloke v Hall, no so bad IMO
