He was ok looked a bit timid in the 1st half sat off the pack a few times instead of going hard for the ball but with more game time/confidence i reckon he will be ok. Improved in the 2nd half as did the team.

Cox was good, a couple of really good spoils, which is his main objective playing down back. Was exposed for pace in the second half, but any 6"3 defender would be if they had to pick up Richard Tambling (best game i've seen him play).
All three debutants were good.

Disappointing but will do better this week if he gets another go.
Entirely absent was the hard running we saw at Wlly and he did look timid.
Needs more length on his kicking too but hopefully has a future - we need guys like this to really come on so we can replace the duds - tarks licca etc.

How can you call Lica and Tarks duds? Tarks fired the boys up in the 3rd quarter he was everywhere. Lica also was a good contributor. Lica has a season to go and will retire 2008-2009

He certainly was not out of place but he did stand off a little. Wouldnt have said timid. Did some crunch things when required. His one handed pick up showed he had some class.

I thought he was pretty good. If I was a betting man and had to pick one of toovey or cox to have a long carrier on this match alone I would put my cash on cox. I know toovey did alot more and looks like he has a red hot crack but despite his execellent first up game I have serious doubts about his skill level to make it as an AFL footballer. Whereas cox seemed to be quite composed and looked very capable in a one on one contest. I would also suspect that cox would be a little more versitale in the roles he can play.

Agreed, Toovs did really well and i really hope he can maintain and improve but he did look a little sloppy skills wise, fumbling and kicking style, though effective on the day.
I thought he was good, didn't seem overwhelmed by the situation and attacked the footy with confidence and vigour. Needs to tighten the shackles though as he played off his man a little.

go back and watch him in the 1st half he was standing off the pack and not goin in for the ball but as i said improved as the game wore on and when put in a more known role.

Was in our best. Attacked the ball, showed poise, got plenty of it and used it pretty well from memory. A good addition to the back-line.

He played on Mahoney early but moved to the forward line in the 2nd half. Had something like 9 or so possesions to half time but struggled forward and didn't get much game time. I thought we could've left him back.
