Full marks to the Poms, we were outplayed in Cardiff and Edgbaston but Trent Bridge was a decidedly dodgy wicket which England, to their credit, handled better than us. Australia's performance at Trent Bridge supports Ian Chappell's point that when the ball moves off the line our batsmen are in trouble.
With the advent of slap bash cricket and a disjointed season there is good reason for Cricket Australia to send young Australian players on more Australia A tours where they can play on wickets that do a bit. We either want the likes of Lynn, Silk, Battinson, Head, Handscombe to become accomplished Test players or we want them to be T20 world champions. If it is the first option then they have to play more four day games preferably under international conditions where they can bat all day on moving wickets if they are good enough.
