That game was meant to be over at 10.30, now I've got to put up with 45 minutes of the thoughts of chairman Ponting. Although if I get bored I can always have a laugh at Adam Gilchrist's ears.
or you could just watch mel.......

"Loneliness, that's the bottom line. I was never happy as a child... Christmas, Glenn, what does that mean to you? It was living hell. Do you know what it's like falling in the mud and getting kicked, in the head? With an iron boot? Of course you don't, no one does, that never happens. Sorry, Glenn, it's a dumb question, skip that..."

Can I just say what I said about team selection the other day, M Starc bowls rubbish/pies/fruit what ever you call his bowling.

Fingers crossed Hazlewood can stay sound. He is exactly what this team needs for England next ashes, a young quick who can swing the ball. Need to find another one of his like soon. With out these guys we have no chance of retaining the ashes.

This is certainly worth a mention. South Africa has just started a home series against the West Indies. The visitors hit a purple patch early when 3 wickets fell on 57, but that's where their joy ended. At stumps, South Africa is 3 for 340, with de Villiers and Amla already having posted 283 for the 4th wicket. If they're in the same mood tonight, all sorts of records could fall.
Ended at 308. 13th best in the world but best for South Africa.

But the problems continued for the hapless Windies. After de Villiers was out for 152, Amla was caught on the boundary for 208, before their new number 6 belted 101 not out on debut. The Proteas declared on 5 for 552 (or 2 for 495 after the fall of the third wicket), leaving the visitors to pray for 3 days of rain!!!

Johnson playing a blinder at number 8. At lunch he's still there on 67 off just 53 balls, with Steve Bradman, I mean Smith still at the crease on 110. It's 6 for 351, a deficit of just 57.

Dammit: Johnson out for 88. He's done an awesome job though: that partnership of 147 has turned the Test on its head.

Often he bowls well after a good hit too

If we can somehow get a lead of 50-70, the Indian top order won't enjoy facing Johnson and Hazlewood. That's when mistakes can happen....

I think the game is evenly poised atm.

Australia need Mitchell Johnson to fire up and grab a couple of wickets in the first session. Johnson has not bowled a delivery above 150kph this series. I wonder if age is starting to catch up ?

These two and Kohli are the key. If we can dismiss all three in the first session, we'll be looking good for a win. But if India gets to lunch only one down, Smith might start to get nervous. The highest successful run chase in a Brisbane Test is only 231, so if we have to chase anything substantial on day five, it could go either way!!!

only just over 9000 at the game yesterday, if we didnt win at the gabba every year i would take the test away from them.

what id do about the slow over rate, fines dont do anything, the threat of banning captains rarely occurs, what id do is for every ball that is lost the team loses a run. miss 3 overs, your team loses 18 runs. miss 5 overs, its 30 runs that comes off your total. that would make an immediate impact on the match and captains would be quick to make sure they get the overs in on time.

he really needs to move his run up back about 2 cm. all wickets have been bloody close.
the collapse is on. day 5 tickets.......not required

That was an early season Ian Chappell dismissal, walking across his wicket.

Johnson's recaptured some fire. Maybe the Phil Hughes tragedy played on his mind more than people thought and he held back a bit. Looks like he's been stirred up.

Hazlewood is looking sharp too.

This is a huge spell for Starc. Johnson and Hazlewood will be there on Boxing Day, and Harris will most likely be fit to return. So unless Starc does something amazing, he'll be the man to make way.
