Warner must have been pissed off Lynn was getting all the attention after last night's innings. I saw him face the first ball of this innings and saw it bounced just short of a six and thought yep he is going to score quickly today. 2nd fastest/fewest balls to get to 50 in test cricket 23 balls.

Younis Khan struck his maiden hundred in Australia and in the process became the first player to score a hundred in all 11 nations that have hosted Tests

11 Number of countries in which Younis Khan has scored Test centuries, including the UAE; he becomes the first player to do so. He scored his maiden century - in his 11th innings - in Australia to complete the set. His previous highest score in Australia was 87, at the MCG in 2004.

2 Number of players with centuries in all ten Full Member nations (excluding the UAE) - Rahul Dravid and Younis. Dravid never played in the UAE. Mohammad Yousuf, Kumar Sangakkara and Mahela Jayawardene also had centuries in ten countries.

1984 The last time a batsman older than Younis, 39, scored a century in Australia - Clive Lloyd, at the age of 40 in Brisbane. Overall, Younis is the sixth oldest visiting batsman to score a century in Australia and third oldest at the SCG after Jack Hobbs and Warwick Armstrong.
...
34 Centuries for Younis, who is level with Sunil Gavaskar, Brian Lara and Jayawardene. Only five players have more Test centuries than Younis.

1.06 Ratio of Younis' centuries to fifties - the second best among 41 batsmen who have scored 20 or more centuries. Only Don Bradman (2.23) has a better ratio than Younis. Overall, Younis has 34 centuries and 32 fifties in Test cricket. He has converted 11 of his last 15 fifties into hundreds.

So that season for the Redbacks finally paid off!

He's only in the XI due to the 'Niiiiiice Gaaaaaryy' factor & nothing else.

He is also there because the Australian selectors have deferred to the Victorian selectors' opinion that Wade is a better keeper than Handscombe. Thanks to the Victorian selectors I have not seen that much of Handscombe but in the little I have seen he has looked pretty tidy and he could not be any worse than Wade. Handscombe has the added bonus that he can bat.

And I read today that only 2 of his 34 Test tons have come in dead rubbers (so this was his second), meaning he's scored heavily when his team needs him most. It adds weight to the belief that he's one of Pakistan's best ever.

After a couple of scares the Strikers got home. Hurricanes were making a good fist of it after they were 5/36 and 161 was a good score for them. We looked OK when Hodge and Dunk were going along but when Hodge, Pollard and Dean departed it was still a bit brown trousers time. Good thing Jordan and Dunk settled down and the six Jordan hit to win the match was only the second boundary in the winning partnership of 31.

The good thing about this year's BBL is that the Crows seem to replicate what the Strikers do. Given the fact that the Strikers may not play finals, maybe that's an omen for the West Lakes Scum as well :)

The Strikers toughed it out in the end, but I reckon the final will be between the hellgood scorchers ;) and the bash bros, and everyone else is playing for third.
You never know, if Head had held either of those easy catches off Ross then we would have beaten them at Adelaide. And there was one Big Bash a few years ago where we were top and nearly unbackable to make the final and were beaten at AO in the semi.
