How pissed off are the Australian Team with Green, right now? The likes of Neser, Boland & Starc have spent the last 5 overs bowling ANYWHERE other than at the stumps, in a bid to avoid getting the 10th wicket and having to bat again tonight. Then Green goes and breaks Rule A - hitting the stumps, and forcing the openers to face a single over tonight.

I can't see Weatherald & Head buying him any beers after play tonight.

Would be funny if we end up with a larger collective Test crowd at Adelaide Oval v MCG.

We can then claim to be #1 in Australia.
Gerard has already said Adelaide is no 1 test in the world.
With his Vic bias that’s enough for me

Maybe his 10 other team mates should have made him aware of the situation ;)

Or maybe it was perfectly timed - don't let them get even one more run closer to us. I think we'll need every single possible run in this - it's still a coin flip.
If they were concerned about the runs, then they wouldn't have abandoned the bowling plan that took the first 9 wickets, and started bowling short garbage - indeed bowling anywhere other than at the stumps - as soon as Tongue walked out to the wicket.

Have you ever seen Boland bowl consecutive deliveries down the leg side? We saw it this evening, as he desperately avoided taking the 10th English wicket before 5:50pm.

It was abundantly clear that their first priority was NOT batting tonight - just as it was on the 2nd evening at the GABBA a few weeks ago. They would rather cough up a few unnecessary runs, bowling crap deliberately with a ring of fielders on the boundary and (almost) nobody in catching positions, than be forced to bat even 1 or 2 overs at the end of the day.

Then Green broke the team rule, bowled one at the stumps, and achieved the inevitable result. Boland & Head would have been extremely pissed off with him.

It was a reference back to green not telling carey the field had changed

It's not a coin flip, as we have a handy lead already.

It's a 60/40 game at worst for us imo.

We have a definite advantage, with a 46 run lead on a wicket where runs are at an abolute premium. I get the feeling that batting 4th on this pitch will be a massive advantage, as it was in Perth. Day 3 will probably see the best conditions for batting, as the pitch browns off. We're certainly not looking at a typical 4th innings, played on a wearing and cracking pitch.

With the Poms batting last, this effectively neutralises the advantage we gained today, making it still a 50/50 game.

At the moment, we have a slight advantage, having the runs already on the board. But the advantage is nowhere near 60/40, with the Poms likely having the best of the conditions to come. Call it 52-48 in Australia's favour, at best.

All I can say is Thank God that the Poms saw fit to retain Carse in their side. Without the runs he coughs up, spraying his deliveries all over the pitch, this game would be well in England's favour right now. Tongue & Atkinson bowled really well today, and deserved the rewards they got. Carse's shithouse bowling was the difference between the two sides in the first innings.

Lol, my 60/40 is conservative!

England paying 4.25 for win v Australia 1.20.

Absolute complete garbage.

Have you never seen the Australians try a short pitched attack at tailenders the last hundred times they tried it?

And Boland went past the outside edge a dozen times once Tongue was in. Neser was bowling attackingly. They kept try to get Tongue on strike so they could attack him.

Just more pathetic trolling from you

It's not vastly different than Perth - except the positions are reversed.

Tomorrow will still be hard to bat, and the best batting of the test so far will be for England in the fourth innings, like it was for us in Perth.

Now, they're mentally smashed so I assume they'll find a way to stuff it up - but a target of 240 will be very gettable I think.

Poms took another mental pounding again after giving up a good start.

Bookies have us strong favourites & rightly so!

But hey, guess you & Vader know better than the bookies lol.

Bookies set their odds based on the bets people have placed. Many people are simpletons, who only see the lead Australia have right now, and haven't thought further down the track - to the Poms having the best of the batting conditions in the 4th innings.

Never underestimate the stupdity of the human condition.

Nah Vader has a Mitch Marsh/Darcy Fogarty style disdain for Cam Green it seems.

Only someone with a serious vendetta would compare anyone with Test 100s to Lachie Murphy
I don't have a vendetta against him. I DO think he's massively overrated, and that he's underperformed massively to date, given his massive potential and miniscule output in reality.

I can actually see parallels with him & Fogarty in that regard, so yeah... that's a fair comparison.

Mitch Marsh is/was completely different. He never had the talent/potential that Fog & Green have. He was only ever selected on the basis of nepotism. Marsh was the WoaT, and his ongoing selection despite a long & continual record of failure at Test level was incredibly frustrating. At least Marsh was a pretty decent player with the white ball, even if he was one of the worst of all time with the red.
