Reckon this is the slowest over rate i have seen. They are only just over half of the overs needed in 2 sessions.

Under 12 overs per hour is ordinary. Going to be well short, even with overtime.

Guess helps us get to day 3....

They deliberately bowl slow in day/night tests because it means less bowling during the best batting conditions. Guarantees a 2.5 hour session under lights.

There needs to be a "pitch clock" like they've brought in for baseball

As soon as you fall behind it's a free hit or some other penalty

Doesnt the Captain miss the next Test?

I'm not fully across those rules but I reckon that's rarely enforced

All sorts of bendy-ness to the rule

Eg if we bowl England out tonight before 80 overs I don't think over rates count

They get punished in the World Test Championship standings for each over they are behind. But it doesn't apply if an opponent is bowled out within 80 overs (edit: or if the opponent is bowled out twice within 160 overs total across the match).

But they ads going to give uo at least 10 overs, even with overtime.

Great run-out by Inglis hitting 1 stump. Could be crucial in the context of this match.

Indeed another wicket.

Be interesting to see how the tail goes for Root

Happy for Root to miss his hungy but also would be very happy for him if he gets there

With all the noise around it he is a strong character

We deserve to get fined really, but we probably wont be
What's the lowest number of overs in a complete day without a loss of time?

I've never liked Labuschagne. Seems like an annoying douche. What a dumb play almost spoiling Carey.

First time I've watched Root bat well, which is crazy given he's considered one of the best batsmen of all time.

Fingers crossed Smith and Labuschagne are actually in form because it seems like a decent batting wicket. I think Travis head and Starc masked a typical poor performance in Perth. Can't rely on a couple of players each test given England have a better quality line up than us without Cummins and Hazlewood

Not once, but twice. He did his utmost to ensure that Carey dropped the catch off Atkinson, to the point of physically colliding with Carey as he was diving for the ball. He then repeated it a few overs later, with Carey pulling out of an attempted catch, with the ball ending up falling between them.

The rule is very simple. The wicketkeeper has a big set of gloves which makes it much easier for him to catch the ball. Whenever the wicketkeeper is going for a catch the other fielder's job is very simple - get the **** out of the way!

Labuschagne broke that simple rule - not once, but twice.

Very fast and lots of bounce on this Adelaide Oval pitch for the Shield game. Might be a glimpse of what to expect for the third Test.
Would like at least 4 days.
