I had a huge debate/argument with a poster last year (who I will not embarras), when I insisted the Beams - JDG/Crisp trade was a great result for us.

He insisted continuously and was intransigent in his belief, he would rather we had retained Beams and not done the trade.

NFI.

Been excellent this year, him and Murray have been good on the rebound. Both clearly been given the get and go license but it's his defending thats been top notch. Never see his opponent get anywhere near it. Was Armitage trying to tag him on the weekend?

Listening to a lot of the player interviews season to date and I think the entire team has permission to take the game on offensively as long as they get the defensive aspects right.

Great to hear, may it continue. Our slow ball movement in recent years has made it really hard for the forwards to take advantage.

I think you're right, and I love it, but ...

Don't think we'll see Mayne streaming down the wing baulking defenders any time soon. If it does happen, I'll need to learn to make a gif.

Footy fans tend to favour intensity. Crisp screams it. I'm a Langdon fan, but he has an air of slow laziness about him, thus he is not rated. That's my theory anyway. When Langdon doesn’t have the ball in his hand, he'd be pretty close to the quickest in the team, but people will swear till they're blue in the face that he is slow. Looks lazy but gets to more contests than any other defender. He's a strange mix where the impression is different to the reality.
Yes spot on he has that Laconic look to him. Similar to James Harden in the NBA, he looks unathletic, slow and uninterested whilst being exactly opposite of those thing in reality.

And i think its an indictment on everyone as fans, how everyone can overlook aspects of Langdons game that are clearly incredibly valuable to how we play, purely on the basis of a laconic look and 2 turnovers a game. If you can’t see how langdons strengths outweigh his weaknesses then i question your football knowledge.

Remains my biggest issue with Mayne, playing well and getting heaps of the footy, but he stifles momentum way too often. Good to see players are running past to take the handball to try and alleviate that.

We're structuring for this, not just a Chris Mayne tactic. Every time a bloke gets the footy in the midfield or defence, the bloke defensive side runs past for the handball.

Appreciate that. Just a greater need with Mayne than some others who'll get the footy on quickly by nature. Sidey and Moore the other prominent stop and prop players we have.

Okay fair you arent bagging Langdon, my bad. Im Attempting to make a point as im sick of hearing about langdon as a whipping boy for reasons that aren’t justified. He is incredibly important.
Just misinterpretted your message and took it as a chance to get my thoughts out there, apologies

Do it in the Langdon thread, Mrs Langdon

I don't agree with you on Sidey, but yeah when Moore marks 80 out, he stops as though he is going to have a shot at goal. I find it irritating.

Happy for you to disagree on Sidey, but he does it all too often.

This. watched him live Langdon and he's the first to with Dunn martial the backline set up and zone off. People that don't rate him have no idea.

So glad to see so many others share my appreciation and admiration for Crispy.:thumbsu::thumbsu::thumbsu:

The bloke is more durable than British Paints. Will be a Pies life member before you know it at this rate.
As long as he keeps away from Rolf Harris.
