IN my opinion this was a proud day for all of us. Standing up against the rapists and thugs that walked the beaches. I tip my hat of to the proud Aussies who walked that day.

Other thoughts?

Having stayed in cronulla quite a bit over the years i would have to say it got completely out of hand....but IMO the premise was right.

Also it was not just white aussies who were involved as some ignorant posters seem to believe on this board....there were many islanders and asians at cronulla all sick of the leb gangs and their intolerant ways.

It takes quite a bit and quite a while for aussies to get steamed up about anything and this problem had been festering for quite awhile.

I suppose its not out of the question to call it a cultural misunderstanding ... thats what the social scientists call it...if the shoe was on the other foot.

Was a national disgrace imo, our flag was desecrated by a pack of thugs who don't know the meaning of being Australian.

Weak minded, weak willed, tryhards.

Couldn't agree more ,i don't live in Sydney but it still frustrated the hell out of me seeing what the Lebanese scum were getting away with up there. It really hit home when my nephew a soldier in the Australian army based in Townsville attended a fortnight long course at Holdsworthy a couple of years back and was viciously attacked by a Lebo gang of muslim cowards while walking back to the barracks by himself one night. He suffered a fractured scull from a blow to the back of the head obviously judging by his injuries with some form of heavy weapon and spent three months in hospital. The police told my brother that they were powerless in dealing with the gangs and to be just grateful he didn't die.Thankfully he has made a full recovery but it left me thinking that these rats only understand one thing . Cronulla had to happen and i too am proud of everyone of those young guys who stood up for themselves.

Sounds like we are speaking the same labguage. All Lebs who come to our country only to not respect our laws. Cronulla was standing up against the scum. Violence was necessary as it is the only language these scum know.

They were just violent drunken, yobbos, who bashed innocent people & are just as bad as the "lebs" they were supposedly protesting about. :thumbsd:

Thats right, every single one of them were, nothing like tarring a group with the same brush eh mantis ;)

We stood upto thugs by being thugs ourselves? How can you be proud by a bunch of yobbos bashing up others and acting like a bunch of bogans? Apologies to the groups who did act peacefully but I have no support for people who use Australia's flag as some sort of political tool to bash up minorities. There were innocent Lebanese who were hurt, just as much as the "aussies"

I knew you wouldn't be far away, so enlighten us oh wise one, did those yobbos make you proud that day?

The ones that caused violence? Hell no, are you ashamed of the people who turned up and DIDN'T cause any violence?

I have told you a million times not to exagerate.

You are in serious denial if you believe its a national disgrace...........what about housing and health among aboriginals........overpaid sportsmen .......politicians on the take and spending taxpayers moneys like turning a tap on........the disgrace of our heath, education and law enforcement departments, i could go on but i am sure you get the picture.

There are many more important things than some riot in cronulla where as far as i am aware no one was killed let alone seriously injured.

The blackfellas riot up in northern towns much more seriously than this trumped up one.

180b.......and its "dips my lid".

Yes, it was an organised anti multicultural march, which I deplore.
Not really that simple.

Although the actions of people that day were point blank wrong, it wasn't really united. Started off as a "we're sick of Lebs" stance and brought in all sort of racists who had a "we don't like non-anglos" agenda.

Whilst the actions were wrong (very very wrong), I certainly see why people don't like the Lebanese. No one in Sydney likes. The Asians don't like them, the europeans don't like them. It's quite unanimous in Sydney that all backgrounds are sick of young lebanese males.

There is no way I can condone the thuggery from either side. The pity of it all is I have some really decent lovely aquaintances of Lebanese decent.

However if you lived in Sydney for some years and saw these gangs at even respectable suburbs ....let alone Hillaliville.... saw the brutish gutless mob mentality and had your wife or sister woof whistled and derided and verbally abused by ingorant teens/ 20's morons .....with daddy don't speaka the english, not know nuffin bout tax, gifted or stolen or drug funded hotted up cars ... then a statement had to be made!!!

It just sad that it got out of hand.... but hey they are much quieter and lower profile now! .. but then again I would not dare go inspect the badlands of Sydney not for any amount !

I do too. One of my favourite business acquaintences are Lebs. They're great. Known them for years. Really cool. I even tell them these days that I'm disillusioned at doing business with Lebanese. Been burnt too many times. They understand.

Not really no. No point in making a staement if it's not going to work. The guys who assaulted the life guards should have been dealt with and that should have been the end of it.

Sure, people are sick of Lebs coming down to Cronulla, looking for fights, robbing people, bashing people, and yelling obscenities to women, but they need to be dealt with individually.

It just sad that it got out of hand.... but hey they are much quieter and lower profile now!
Err, no. Same old.

I agree entirely.

Crunulla is so over-rated its not funny.

And declaring it a 'national disgrace' is a travesty, a complete misrepresentation and very dangerous.

The politicised morons in this country need to put the event into perspective. A few people were punched, a women had her hijab pulled of, BIG DEAL!!!

Anyone heard of Sudan??? 1.5 million Christians killed since 1984, the ethnic cleansing and displacement of Christians in Pakistan?????, the persistent murder of Christians/priest/destruction of churches in Indonesia, Egypt, Saudi Arabia etc etc etc?????????

There is probably a Christian being murded in one of these countries as we speak, yet we even bother talking about Crunulla.

What a joke.

An angry mob with racists intentions that culminated in racial violence IS a national disgrace.

......what about housing and health among aboriginals...
What about it?

.....overpaid sportsmen ....
How's that a disgrace? They get paid according to what they generate, sometimes less.

...politicians on the take and spending taxpayers moneys like turning a tap on........the disgrace of our heath, education and law enforcement departments, i could go on but i am sure you get the picture.
Like the ones you mentioned before, these are inhouse. The Cronulla riots were telecast around the world. They were a disgrace.

There are many more important things than some riot in cronulla where as far as i am aware no one was killed let alone seriously injured.

Racial disharmony in a multicultural society is a problem.

So the Asians and Islanders that were there, they are against multiculturalism as well?

There were a lot of people just out shopping that day,or just visiting Cronulla who were photographed, please post proof that they were there for the rally? That rumour was started by the anti multicults.

They should have been just rallying against crime, not one race, or are you saying all "lebs" are thugs?

Mantis:

Everyone is sick of Lebs. Everyone is wary of them because they have a deserved dodgy reputation. The Asians don't like them, the Islanders don't like them, the wogs don't like them.

No proof, no stats, that's just how it is. If you don't want to believe it then good for you. But that's how it rides in Sydney.

The funny thing that came out of this Cronulla incident, is that us white Australians are viewed as racist for retaliating. And, the Lebanese are viewed as the victims.

ROFL!

Shopping... at the beach???

You should be rallying against all racism, or are you saying only aussies are racist? You should also be rallying against all protests that turn to violence, I didn't see you posting your outrage at the people at G20....
