Gavin Crossisca didn't have his coaching contract renewed by the blues. Any chance he'll come back to the pies as an assistant coach seeing spaces needed to be filled by bluey McKenna and Richo? From memory he also coached box hill and was assistant at Hawthron previous to Carlton so does have a fair bit of experience

I met Gavin a few years back at the Young and Jacksons pub in Melbourne. It was a Friday night and the Pies were playing North. We were winning and I mentioned this to him in passing. He was disgusted that we were winning. He went on to mention that He "HATES" Collingwood (didn't give reasons). So NO i would not want this LOSER back at our club.

Reason, (I think)
When MM arrived at Collingwood in 2000 Crossica fell out of favour with MM. He only needed several games to get to 250 and ended up on 247. MM wouldn't play him and Crossica never got to that magical 250.

Well He does not to hate Collingwood - He can Hate MM all he Likes but don't put it on the club

I remember when Malthouse did not play him.
We were crap at the time anyway.
Crosisca was a great player for us.
Very honest and hard working.
Would not have hurt helping him get to 250 games. :thumbsu:
I was a bit p1ssed off with Malthouse for not helping him get past 250.
I however doubt that he hates Collingwood that much after spending so much time at the club and being a premiership player.

Yes we should have helped him get to 250 games I was also disappointed we couldn't do that for him as a club.

I think there was more to it between he and MM. Something to do with his attitude towards training, maybe turning up later than he should've several times .

At least he wasnt traded away to another club like so many of our Premiership legends - Monkhorst, Russell, Francis, McGuane.

Unlucky he never played 250 games but he played a lot more than some of his 1990 peers. And he was a one club player.

Move on, Gav.

Whether he's a decent coach, I dont know. We shoudl recruit the best available irrespective of their original clubs.

There's a saying that the 'best person for the job, already has a job', or something to that effect. Meaning, we should recruit the best person we can...whether they are in employment or not!
