I'm an atheist and it's that obvious.

There is more leniency in what you can say about Christians compared to Muslims.

For example, if you called Ollie Dempsey a dirty God-botherer, you'd get a less severe punishment than if you call Bachar Houli a dirty Muslim.

However, that has a lot to do with the political, social and historical context. There is anti-Muslim hatred that exists in society on a level that Christianity cannot currently dream of.

Christians have NEVER been persecuted in Australia.

The same cannot be said of the LGBTQ+ or indigenous Australians etc.

The footy field has been determined a workplace, regulated and legislated (State and Commonwealth instruments). All workers are protected from homophopbic/racial/sexual etc slurs in the workplace by the Commonwealth Anti-Discrimination laws.

It wouldnt matter if the player was binary, non binary, trans, queer, muslim, christian, jew, african, indigenous, etc. The matter is that the action is unlawful discrimination, in the workplace, and unlawful, and I would expect that player to be sanctioned fairly and consistently to the rules.

So I was right then.

Most modern Western democracies values of 'freedom' and 'liberty' are not based on Judeo-Christian values.

They are values that stem from the Enlightenment movement, of which the majority of the major thinkers of the time (Locke, Rousseau etc) were secularist.

There was a disgusting blasphemous sign in the crowd on Saturday night from a crows supporter comparing one of their players to Jesus as a savour. The media went out of their way to specifically made sure this sign was aired on live TV at least twice

This is totally normal and fair game for the AFL. Nothing is said. In fact it's encouraged.. Just hypocrites..

I didn't watch the game, but if that happened, and I can't believe it did, that would be Christianophobic and surely a ban for that hate filled fan?

I haven't gone to the footy for years, but if I was still going and the AFL let something like that go unpunished, I'd stop going to the footy for sure. For a Christian to keep going to the footy after something like that would mean he had ceased to be a Christian, because he supports a Christianophobic organisation.

This, if it happened, would prove the AFL to be the Antichrist Football League.

In fact I would go as far as saying there are no Christian players left in the AFL if none of them complain like Issac Quaynor did when he found out that Izak Rankine believes his lifestyle is a vice.
