As soon as dusty roved the pack we all knew the handpass wad going straight to lambo for an easy goal the roar stareted 10 seconds b4 lambo kicked it
It was the best of starts
For all of the build up for that game, waiting two weeks, knowing it was for a spot in the GF, knowing it would be an interstate side then knowing it was GWS and anticipating the massive one sided crowd ... you couldn't have possibly scripted that goal any better!!

Would anyone on here care to comment on both the preliminary final and the GF in terms of noise. I was lucky enough to attand the prelim final and thought the crowd was mental but work required me back home.

Any comparisons welcome:sunglasses:

IMO the best crowd was the one against Geelong, then the GWS game and then the Grand Final. The only spot I could get for the grand final was in the MCC and it was completely dead. I'm incredibly grateful that I could actually get a ticket to the game at all but my one big regret was not swapping for another seat in the stadium. MCC might have some nice facilities/bar etc but the atmosphere is dismal. From where I sat grand final day it seemed pretty much like a regular home and away match.

EXACTLY

On the preliminary final.

Sadly I didn't witness it live.

But clearly the mix of a club who hadn't played in a grand final for 35 years with a huge supporter base against a brand new interstate club is going to make for crowd atmosphere that will likely never happen again.

I went to all 3... Prelim for a whole event was much louder than anything..

Loudest on GF day for me was when Houli kicked our second, unbridled and unexpected excitement coupled with a sudden belief that it was possible...

Totally agree Hank.

Bachar missed one on the left at training last week. He said “I only get them in big games!”

Haere Ra

Unfortunately never got to the prelim or the gf so for me its a couple that come close from personal experience:
4. Cousins last game at etihad
3. Running out against carlton in the 2013 ef
2. Dusty roar on the wing against geelong
1. And this is a personal one but for me given the crowd size it was against hawthorn in 2013 when Daniel Jackson kicked the goal in the last quarter from 45m. Pissing down in the rain with all the Richmond supporters on level 1 knowing that this was the game to put us into the finals for the first time in 12 years. That many people screamed in elation when he kicked that. I cried lol

Why then, i was telling my mates to prepare for glory the moment we smashed the cats.

From where all us plebs sat in the southern stand GF Day was pretty good. Not a patch on the prelim for noise but not far off the quali and every bit as passionate, probably more. Agree the Geelong crowd was bloody awesome. Handbaggers both on the ground and in the stands didn’t know what hit em.

More in just relation the GF day itself...

Everyone turned up hoping and believing IMO
Then the crows kicked 2 in 30 secs, I think everyone was a little concerned around the ground..
Caddy got our first and it got hopes up again
Houli's was at least confirmation we wouldn't get stage fright or get blown away...

I think when Caddy kicked our first it was just relief as I've seen our side kick point after point after point before a goal.

When Houli kicked our second we all went bananas because we knew we were "on" and going to give it a real crack!

The pitch in the crowd noise definitely sounds higher for that first goal than any other highlight I've watched. Commentary may affect this i.e. Basil's 'Dusty..Dusty..Dusteeey' may have drowned out the pitch in that classic last qtr. goal. Either way extremely jealous of any one that was at the ground to experience the deafening sound.

Quite possibly. It's a shame there is no option to watch the games with just the natural ambient noise track. I remember being in Germany for the 2010 World Cup and being able to choose between German, English and no commentry. We're such a back water here when it comes to this stuff.

Yeah the Germans have are usually ahead of the curve with that sort of thing. My amps got a stadium sound mode which does accentuate the crowd noise to some degree.

Prelim for me but was still impressed with the GF. People say too many corporates at the G I was pleasantly surprised with the support and Richmond colours around the stadium.
There were lots of Richmond supporters with corporate tickets including me
