Once again we have a home final but what crowd will we get.

Unfortunately I can see the same problems we face each year
1. Friday night may mean a lot of our country members cannot get down or back home esp as they have country finals starting on Saturday.
2. Start of Royal Adelaide Show and people say they cannot afford to go to the Show plus Footy.
3. Port Cat 1 members wont pay to go to Crows final
4. A lot of older AAMI stadium members dont like going to night matches as they get home too late eg with 7.45pm start may not get home until 11.15 to 11.30pm
5. There seems a reluctance of season ticket holders to pay out more money to go to a final
6. General South Australian attitude of not wanting to pay to go out

Unfortunately I think we will struggle to get 40,000 and I think the crowd will be closer to 35,000

There will be a big crowd this Friday night.

I've never had this much hype amongst myself and mates about going this week. Even my so-so Crows mates are all super keen to get along and bandwagon it. Will probably be going in a group of 10+.

Country members and all that wont matter coz the tickets have to be bought anyway.

less people that go more chance I have of getting a ticket wednesday so i dont mind.

all AFL cares about is TV audience and that should be massive. ITS FINALS TIME AND ILL BE AT EVERY CROWS GAME POSSIBLE!!!!!!!!!

Best time of my year!

i predict 42k, dont under estimate the thousands of bombers fans that will show up either!

Yep, it's time to roll out the usual excuses for our poor crowds!

I remember the crowd in 1997 at Footy Park at our Geelong final (which was a night final). It was a full house, the atmosphere was electric, and you struggled to get out of the stairwells there were so many people standing at the back of each section.

There has always been country/local footy finals in September overlapping with AFL finals, and the Adelaide Show has always been on at this time too. Yes, we have a high proportion of elderly supporters (particularly Cat 1 members), but that has always been the case since 1991.

As for the excuse of season ticket holders not wanting to pay extra to see a final, we are going to get 1 home final this year! Any passionate Crows fan should be beating down the door to get a ticket!

What has changed over the last decade or so? I just think there is a general reluctance to attend games now, which may have been driven by Foxtel and their live (or near live) broadcasting of games into Adelaide. People are content to have a BBQ with their friends and watch it at home.

Funny thing is, you can also bet on these same people having a whinge to KG and Cornsey and The Advertiser when they miss out on Grand Final tickets if the Crows make it!

Or maybe the reason is Footy Park is too cold, too far away, no parking, uncomfortable seats, expensive food, no pre-game entertainment, no roof, too far away from the action (compared to Docklands)...

It just goes on and on....

From what I can see that is correct.

We've had 40k+ for most games this year, I don't see why we shouldn't get 45-47k on friday
