Are we having a crowd tipping competition again this year?

It went something along these lines

The Rules

Everyone starts off with 1,000,000 points in round 1. Anyone entering the competition after round 1 will have lost 25,000 points for each round they've missed.

One point to be deducted for every 1 the estimate is out by, under or over, in each match.

Failure to enter in any given week is a 50,000 point deduction

A 10,000 point penalty will apply to anyone lodging their tips after the stated weekly deadline.

A players' average weekly score will be allocated to them should a technical problem (eg: BigFooty going down, ISP problem, etc) prevent that player from entering their weekly tips - ON THE PROVISO they'd entered tips both the week prior to and the week following the problem; otherwise the 50,000 point penalty applies for the missed week.

Disqualification will occur in the unlikely event a competitor 'goes bankrupt' (0 points)

Official crowd figures used will be those published on the Official AFL website or for clarification the following week's 'Footy Record'

The winner will be the person with the most points remaining after the Eagles last game of the season.

Who can enter?

This competition is exclusive for West Coast Eagles supporters. This means only Eagle fans can enter the competition. Other forums need to contact their moderator to see if any competitions will be occuring this season.

Bonus Points!

The following are bonus points given to reward those lucky crowd punters!

Direct Hit (Guessing the exact score - 4000 points added to your total

1-25 off the score - 1000 points added back to your total

More bonus points will be considered during the season.

Unfortunately the Crowd Tipping Comp won't be returning in 2004. I won't be able to devote the time to make the competition running as smooth as last year. I'm also not too sure if I'll be around in July/August so I'd hate to start something I couldn't finish.

Having said that - I'm willing to donate the concept to anyone who would like to try and run it. West Coast Stre mentioned all the rules in the post above.

As defending champion, I hope we do get it up and running again this year. Otherwise I retire as undefeated champion of this forum.
