Crowd vs Bombers

Saturday arvo timeslot. Perfect for mum and dad to get the kids in the car or on the train and go to the footy. Both teams probably playing for their (slim) finals hopes and the weather forecaster at this early stage saying it was be a few showers and 13 degrees.
How many will we get?

I would've said something similar to that, if it weren't for the Blues game. That was the biggest game for the club since 2001, and we still only got around 75. So I can't see us getting that again for this game, when it's a similar match except with the two teams slightly further out of the 8, and it's not the 100 year celebrations.

ESS pull a better crowd than the Blues who let us down in the centenary game. with the bombers team up and about with 4 successive wins , expect a bold turnout especially with the tiges also hammering WC , and will be all over MON papers being a sunday game...70k+, provided fine weather

I agree with BJ17. Carlton turn up for the centenary game was pathetic. The Bomber army will be out in force with their recent improvement.

Given good weather, 80,000 plus. With rain and cold, 70,000.

But honestly JSF we had almost 50,000 at the centenary game. The Blues simply didn't turn up. This is a fact.

On a run of 4 wins and with a slim finals chance the Bombers will be out in more numbers. It wouldn't surprise me if it was 70,000 but late season 70,000 plus attendances between teams neither of whom are in the top 8 are very very rare. Almost unknown so I'll go for 66,000.

There are only 2 armies. Us and the Magpies. Only us and the Magpies have that mix of huge support mixed with feral intensity which characterises a supporter army. Bombers have huge numbers but man for man we outshout them adn they know it.

We are The Tiger Army and while I respect the magpies ( huge numbers and great athmosphere ) I don't rate any other club as an Army.

I'm tipping 70k, we've won 3/4 & Bombers 4/4, the bandwagon supporters will be out in force for this one. Only thing that might keep the crowd down is those who stay home to watch it on Foxtel and the Cats v Dogs on 10 with both games live.

Barring bad weather I expect there will be at least 75-85k. Huge match, both sides in good form and have everything to play for.

there should be a good crowd for this match. it all really depends on weather.
just two things i have to say about topics mention on this discussion.
1. the centary game was a great turn out by richmond supporters, there was atleast 50k there that were richmond, carlton like they always do is let everyone down.
2. there is only one army in the AFL and thats the TIGER ARMY, collingwood can say they do, but when theyre on a losing streak theres no big crowds or loud chanting and cheering. dont belive everything you hear on TV, just because commentators call them an army means shit to me. shit.. you wanna see an army? come to the back of the cheer squad and meet the grog squad who make this army, collingwood... youre nothing compared to us. stop pretending that you will ever be as passionate as us because the end all you have is a social ****** with a gold jacket.
